This a dark night, different from the others in a strange way, maybe it is because of the stars that are shinning down at the library, I remember what the librarian told me this morning: "Joseph, a new book has arrived, it's black cover and golden details make it very beautiful, I've never seen a book like this before, if you come by the night I will show you this book." The librarian was a nice man, he was old and very wise, I spent many nights reading ancient tales with him and studying about literature in general.
I don't have friends at the orphanage or at the school I go to, I've never met my parents and according to the nuns that work at the orphanage both died in front of the door leaving me behind, no will, nothing to inherit from them, only my name... Joseph Animus the name given to me is nothing more than a gift from the parents I've never had, I don't know why or how but I could do thing the other kids couldn't ever since I was small and for that reason I decided to stay away from them, I could hear what they would do, or how they felt about a topic...This was a curse and the nuns started to punish me every time I would call them out on their desire. The only person which didn't punish me was the Librarian, I have a deep respect for him for that reason; I also feel a strange connection to him. I loved visiting him in that old library filled with books and knowledge, I couldn't wait to read more and discover more about the world and what it held for someone like me.
The library is always closed after the sunset, however thanks to the Librarian I have the key to enter it at night, one thing that has always interested me ever since I was a child was stories about magical places and the mythical, things that do not exist in our world; I believed that I could be one of these mythical creatures for my strange abilities, after many years I discovered this was called E.S.P. (Extrasensory Perception) since I've never met my parents or anyone in my family I do not know if this is common or normal in my family.
I always prefer being at the library at night, it's quiet and no one interrupts you; is not like I prefer being alone, I've never had anyone in my life that made a change so I distance myself from everyone, their thoughts make me feel fear and scared of what they will be able to do if these thoughts take control of them, many books and poems speak of people which let their desire take control of them, without limitations what stops a person from being good and bad? What would be the definition of good and bad as well, I think these words are used by people who don't understand the ideology of the other.
I finally reach the library, as always the Librarian is nowhere to be seen and the books are scattered everywhere typical of the people who come here to "Read" they have no respect for people which are no longer with us and left us with these amazing tales, funny thing is I still believe the people who wrote something may be trying to reach others, however they are not successful all the time; Leaving this aside the Librarian was kind enough to leave me the black book next to the chair, a beautiful book like he said, the book I could estimate an approximated 500 pages, by the weight I would be correct for I could barely lift it off the desk he was placed in, I flip it and started to search for anything written on the back or the name of the author but to no results, this book is shrouded in mystery and that makes me more eager to read it completely and take it with me wherever I go.
Strange thing is when I touched the book I felt something shock me, maybe it was because of the clothes I was wearing or maybe I had a large electrical charge from the rain outside, whatever it was it doesn't matter anymore I sat down and opened the book and read the first page: "Grimoire Valkyrie" Grimoire... Strange to name a book Grimoire, something so medieval must've been found in an excavation site or in a tribe somewhere in the world where they believe magic to be real, what could be hidden in this book? All that grabbed my attention was its dark cover with golden details and its title written in a beautiful circular letter, I wondered as I saw the contents in it, to my surprise there was only one thing written down: "Prophecies & Tales" this keeps intriguing me, why would such a thing be of so much interest for the Librarian?
