The leader of the guards didn't seem surprise when Golden appeared on our side, it was almost as if he was expecting that to happen, something has been troubling me ever since I saw Golden; Her aura, I can't read it like the others something must be blocking me for the first time... Why would she want to help me and Dave? I have many questions while looking at her, for now all I can do is to keep an eye on her.
"Do not worry, I'm on your side." She said looking back at me.
"I think we should worry Joan, she appeared out of nowhere and wants to help us; I say she must have something to do with this guards." Dave said next to my ear.
"I agree with you Dave; However, without her we can't help this guy out." I said pointing at boy in the cage.
"He does have a point Elf..." Golden said approaching us. "Let's just help each other out, what do you say?" Golden said reaching her hand out towards mine.
"For the good of the boy, I don't see why not." I said shaking her hand felling a small electricity flow in her hand. "Like Lilith... Strange." I murmured to myself.
"What is it Joan?" Dave said looking at my hand.
"Nothing..." I said brushing him off. [I must be careful of her, I still know nothing about her and I can't feel her Aura; Dave is also suspicious of her and as such we must be prepared, for now all I need is to help the boy in the Emperor.] I thought to myself looking at the guards waiting for their next action.
"Very well, we've decided on how to proceed." The leader of the guards said approaching me. "Are you ready to listen to the conditions challenger?" He asked looking down on me.
"Let's hear it then." I said looking back at him.
"The Emperor shall be on the outskirts of town by nightfall, a team of three people and three reserves, the first team to win three rounds will be victorious and decide the future of the boy." The guard in red said walking around me.
"Very well, we shall be ready by then." I said approaching Dave again. "Dave how tired are you?" I asked looking at him as we walked back to the Inn.
"Not very much, I just need a little sleep and I'm ready to go Joan." Dave said stretching his arm. "What about Golden, do we really trust her?" He said looking at her next to us.
"I'm right here Elf." She said disgusted. "If you do not need my help I can return to the crowd and look at how both of you fail." Golden said crossing her arms.
"Please Golden, we need you for the moment..." I said stopping my feet firmly on the ground. "If you volunteer who am I to deny your participation?" I said reaching my hand out towards her. "How about it? For now, we work together?"
"Fine... Since you were so polite I can reconsider." She said following us.
"Nicely played Joan, now you need to change clothes; I'm sure that blue sweater will probably be torn to pieces." Dave said looking at me.
"I wasn't going to wear this..." I said scratching my head trying to remember my other clothes. "I think I'll need to buy some clothes for the Emperor... Because I don't have many options."
"I can help you with that." Golden said next to me.
"Really? That would be pretty nice of you." I said looking at her.
"You're saying I'm not nice?" She said looking back at me.
"Don't change my words... Dave go to the Inn and tell the girls if they're back about what will happen, Golden and I will go buy some clothes for myself." I said pointing at both me and her.
