The days I've joined the decathlon team were so boring. I mean, it's just been a few days, but still. I know everything and I'm supposed to help them win nationals. Ugh! Well, today we have to go to Washington for nationals.
We were waiting to get in the bus while Michelle read as we talked. "Hey it's Peter" Abraham said.
"Peter?" The captain, Liz, asked. "Yea. I was hoping maybe I could rejoin the team." Peter said.
"No. No way. U can't just quit on us, stroll up and be welcome back by everyone." Flash said walking to him.
"Hey welcome back Peter!" Mr. Harrington greeted.
"Flash you're back to first alternate." "What?" "He's taking your place" Abe said and everyone laughed.
"Hey excuse me. Can we go already? I was hoping to get in some light protesting in front of an embassy before dinner" Michelle said.
"Protesting is patriotic. Let's get on the bus" Mr. Harrington said.
Flash took of his team jacket and threw it at Peter.
We all got in the bus and I sat next to Michelle on the bus. Liz asked a few questions and the team answered them.
"Isabelle?" Liz called. "What?" I asked with annoyance.
"Are u gonna answer a question? Or are u just here to stay quiet and look pretty?" Liz asked.
"Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize I actually had to do anything since no one said anything till now." I said and she sighed.
"Come on Isabelle. At least try. You're very smart and we need your help" She said and my response was an eye roll.
"Fine. Ask the questions" I said and sat up straighter.
She asked some questions and I would immediately hit the bell and answered them.
"Great. Plz participate so we can try and win nationals." She said and I rolled my eyes.
We eventually made it to where we were staying for the night. We all went to our rooms and guess what! I'm rooming with Liz.
"What's wrong with u?" She asked me as I sat on my bed. "What do u mean?" I asked.
"When we practice at school, u don't do anything. And you don't even act friendly. You are just straight rude. We all need to be friends here" She said.
"Yea. I don't need many friends. Michelle is my friend, and that's all I need" I said and took out a book to read.
"Isabelle, we need more than one friend. And I want to be your friend, but you don't want to be mine. We could have fun together." She said.
"Do u have any siblings? If u do, what do u do with them that is so fun" She asked. I looked at her with sad eyes. Maybe I should make up a lie and say I don't have siblings so no one can bother me. Tho, now hat she mentioned siblings I needed some air.
