A lot of couples liked going places for dates.
Niall and I preferred the alternative: being lazy. We liked staying at home and watching a movie, cuddled up on the couch with a blanket and some kind of snack (because face it, Niall never stopped eating). But I loved it because despite my eccentric personality, I didn't like dressing up; I'd much rather wear sweats than a skirt anyday, but that was just me.
Anyway, so there we were, curled up on the couch, watching some kind of movie (I honestly never cared what we watched, I just loved cuddling with Niall). My head was leaning against Niall's chest, and his arms were wrapped snugly around me. We didn't have to have an ongoing conversation; we were really just enjoying our time together.
Niall and I moved in an apartment a few months ago. My mom didn't like that; she and I fought and fought over the whole ordeal. She argued that I didn't have to move in with Niall; she said that I may as well marry him since we'd be living together. I was just honestly happy at the idea of living with Niall; he and I saw each other constantly anyhow, so it made sense to me for us to just move in together, to save gas money and whatnot. My mom was seeing her own picture while I was trying to save money.
But all in all, Niall and I did end up moving in together. We've had our arguments, but what other couple hasn't? I loved him, and he loved me. We went to the same uni (though we didn't have classes since the summer just began, and we were too lazy to take summer courses).
I've dated in high school. I was one of those girls who just loved boys; don't get me wrong, I wasn't slutty, and I wasn't obssessed or anything at the thought of always having a boyfriend. I really just liked having fun. I liked getting to know someone, and I liked feeling wanted. It was as simple as that, like a beginner math problem with a simple solution. I loved flirting, and I also loved giving and/or receiving presents. I loved taking time to search for the right birthday present, and I loved any guy that was romantic. I've dated guys that turned out to be awful - but who hasn't? I've had my share fair of breakups, but I follow the strong philosophy that breakups will only make you stronger in the long run.
I first met Niall at this small local carnival. I went with my aunt and little cousin, and my little cousin was dying to go on this small kid roller coaster. Niall was the one guy who led us to the ride (the place had barely any people there), and he was the one who ran the machine. I liked him instantly; he was great with my cousin, and he and I both made each other laugh. But of course, I thought nothing of him when we left.
And the next time I saw Niall was at a frat party on a Friday night; I was drunk (piss drunk) and I was really just looking for someone to kiss. I saw a blonde walk last me, stumbling a bit in his wake, so I grabbed him and started kissing him. And he kissed me back. For the rest of the party, we were basically kissing partners. It was ridiculous, really. We both ended up falling asleep on the floor in a back room.
And from then on, it was Jess and Niall. We both just clicked. We weren't too different and we weren't too alike. We had our differences and we had our similarities. I fell head over heels for him without even realizing it, and it just swept me over completely, and honestly, I didn't mind it - at all.
"Is my baby girl tired?" Niall cooed to me when I turned around to bury my face in his chest.
"Maybe," I said in a small, muffled voice.
"C'mere," he hoisted me further so I was sprawled in his lap, and I started giggling when he suddenly picked me up and started carrying me to our bedroom. I had gotten tired sometime during the movie.
However, as Niall and I lay next to each other on the bed, I started to feel less tired. His eyes were closed, so I silently looked over the planes of his face; he had a few almost indistinguishable freckles along his cheeks. The only reason I had noticed this was awhile ago by being this close because you couldn't see them from far away.
"Niall," I whispered.
"Hm?"
I giggled quietly and pressed my ear close to his, "You're cute."
His bright blue eyes stared hard at me in an adorable glare, and he muttered, "I'm not cute. I'm manly."
"Sure you are."
Niall grinned a little at my teasing tone and sat up, leaning on his elbow. "Is that a challenge?"
"I don't know," I stretched my arms over my head and eyed Niall skeptically. "Is it?"
And just like that, Niall was on top of me with his hands holding mine captive above my head. Our noses were inches apart, and Niall was grinning smugly.
"Am I so cute now?" Niall whispered.
He was. Niall was just an all around cute person, even when he got angry. But I didn't push it; instead, I pressed my lips to his, unable to hold back the underlining, growing temptation, and we kissed each other softly at first. But like a growing fire, it ignited, and soon, he had released my hands, and I was trying to slide his shirt over his head.
We stopped kissing so he was able to slide his shirt off, and instantly we were back to kissing. His hands were all over me, and I moaned against his lips as I hooked my leg around his waist, instantly spreading my legs for him.
He chuckled breathlessly at my eagerness. "That's my girl,"
Somewhere in our apartment my phone started to ring, but I easily ignored it as I lost myself to Niall Horan, the unexpectedly (and inevitably) love of my life.
