Rose’s POV
I arrived at Colorado the next Wednesday, I was going to see my dad. He moved here when he met his new wife, I haven’t been here since last Christmas. I loved him but he had a new family and it felt awkward.

I knock his big wooden door and a brunette woman quickly greeted me with a warm smile. She was pretty, but I felt bad this was my mom replacement.
-Hey honey -she stepped aside so I could walk in -how have you been?
-Hello Nathalie- I gave her a little smile, pulling my suitcase as I entered the big saloon
-What do I always tell you? -she put her hand in my shoulder -You can call me Nat, darling- I rather not.
-Where’s dad?-I asked-I thought he was already here from work
-He took Adam to the park, they’re going to buy dinner- she said as she fixed her tight skirt- Go to the guest room and relax, you’re probably tired, I’ll let you now when dinner’s ready
-Okay, thanks… Nat- Her smile got bigger and then she just turned around, walking towards her studio, the sound of her heels surrounded the house.

Nathalie used to be one of my father’s co-worker, they met 8 years ago, then he got divorced from my mom and married this younger version of her. If she wasn’t the woman that my dad cheated my mom with I would probably like her. Nathalie had a son few years before they married with some other dude but I honestly adore that kid, I’ve always been an only child so when I spend Christmas in Colorado and saw his face lighting up when he opened his present just melted my heart.
I came to Colorado this time because my dad got a promotion and Adam was graduating from elementary school. I’m staying here for a couple of weeks. It feels nice being away from the girls and their drama.

On a Saturday, I was way too bored so I decide I wanted to hang out outside, the sun was fully out so I craved a Starbucks. I could walk there so I took my purse and the house keys and left. It was a few blocks down so I got there in 10 minutes. I knew already what I wanted.
-Hi, can I have a cold brew, please? -I politely asked the lady when I was next in line, there was a lot of people inside- My name’s Rose
-Okay…-she replied with a smile and then she looked at me- What size?
-Venti- I say as she handed me back my credit card -Thank you

I made my way through all the people that was waiting for their orders. I stand next to a blonde girl, she was a bit taller than me, probably my age too, she was playing with her phone. Just when I stopped next to her, avoiding the crowded space next to the bar, she put down her phone.
-What’s a cold brew? –she fixed her sunglasses placed in her head -sorry, I overheard you, I was next to you in line – she gave me a shy laugh
-Its okay- I couldn't help but smile too, she seemed so chill- It has twice the amount of coffee, it gives me the boost of energy I usually lack
-Me! -she responded as she laughed – I’ve never heard of that, I’ll try it next time
-I first tried it when one of my friends order it in LA, I’ve been addicted since then – I told her, we both walked to get our drinks and casually sat like we were friends
-My brother lives in LA, I wish I could live there too- she looked sad for a few seconds but then she smiled again at me -So when did you travel there?
-I came here to visit my dad but I actually live in LA, I moved there about a year ago -I shrugged
-That’s so cool! Have you met any celebrities like Josh Peck? – she started to fangirl, I laughed with her
- I’ve met some actors but no one that famous- I responded- I haven’t asked your name, sorry
-Thank God you mentioned it, I was trying to read yours from your cup- We both laughed- I’m Morgan Adams
-My name is Rose- I said as we both shake hands. Her iPhone light up with a phone call that she quickly responded
-Hello?… yes, I’m still here… like right now? But I just made a new friend… okay… give me 5 minutes- she hung up and turned to face me again- Sorry, it was my mom, she wants me to help her with some stuff at home
-oh, it’s okay, it was nice to meet you Morgan -I gave her a genuine smile as she stood up
-Thank you. It's very nice to meet you as well – She stared to walk to the door but then she stopped and went back at were I was sitting -Hey, if you are staying here for a few weeks I think we should hang out sometime
-Yeah, sure, I’d love that – I gave her my phone so she could save her number there, she gave me her's as well -I'll text you later Morgan
She waved as she walked outside Starbucks. She was the first person in many years that I truly enjoy talking to, she was really funny and outgoing.

As the days went on, Morgan and I became good friends, we spend our free time together. I discovered that we are totally opposite people but at the same time so alike. Sometimes we dressed up and hung out and sometimes we just stayed at home watching horror movies and eating pizza.

When I realized, it was already my last day at Colorado and the last day I was spending with my new best friend...

I will definitely miss her when I go back to LA….
