Chapter 1

I've never heard of parents getting their 17-year-old teen a babysitter. I always thought teens around 16-19 didn't need somebody to watch them.

They're almost legal adults, and they should know how to take care of themselves. I don't think it's necessary to have one at that age. I guess my parents didn't think so because they got me one for their business trip, which is today.

They hadn't told me I would be having a babysitter until the day before they left, which was yesterday. I didn't even have a chance to meet this person and maybe possibly get to know them.

This should be an interesting experience.

My parents are going on their business trip for four months, so I'll be alone with this person until then. Why would they just leave their daughter here with a complete stranger? Did they even do a complete background check on this person? It doesn't matter anymore, today I meet them and it's nothing I can do to change it.

There's a knock at my door, and I hear my dads voice. "Anya your babysitter is here, come say hello." He says this like the person is a relative. He says this like we've known the person for a long time or something. "Ok." I call back. I guess I have to get up now.

Walking down the stairs I can hear my parents talking to someone, it sounded like a guy. They're really making me live with a guy for four months, if they were gonna do that I could have just stayed with Ace or Jaylen, my bestfriends.

"Yes Mr and Mrs Anderson, I know what to do if there is any type of problem. You have nothing to worry about. I'm sure Anya, and I will get along just fine." I hear him say. There's no reason to call them for any type of problem. They're leaving me with a complete stranger, so it doesn't really matter, does it?

As I step from the last stair my mom looks up. "Oh Anya!" She exclaimed. She came over to me and pulled me to meet my new house-mate. "Anya this is Derrick, Derrick this Anya. You two will be together for the time we're gone. Please be nice to Derrick Anya and don't give him a hard time, he's taking time away from his life to come take care of you. Derrick everything you need is on the fridge, there is also money on the counter enough for the months we'll be gone. Don't waste it." My dad said kissing my head and giving me a side hug.

My mom came up to me doing the same. "Be good. You can go over to Ace's if you'd like, just be sure to tell Derrick first before leaving. We'll make sure to call and see how things are going." They then walked out the door getting into their car and driving off with one last wave.
She shouldn't lie about calling just to impress the babysitter.

Derrick turned to me and his smiling face had turned into a glaring one. "Ok so you have an option to stay in this house or you can go over to your boyfriends house. I'm having a party, and I don't need you messin' anything up."

I shook my head. What the fuck. "This is my house. What makes you think you can just come in here and boss me around? I'm old enough to take care of myself. I don't need you." I said. He started to walk closer to me making me back up onto the door.

"As long as I'm up in here and your parents gone, this house mine and you bein a bitch ain't helpin'. How about you make this easier for the both of us and go to your boyfriends house."
I stood there shocked. Who did he think he was? He's the one visiting my house, and he thinks he can just come in here and tell me what to do. "Well excuse the fuck outta me for telling the truth. This is my house nigga. I've taken care of this house since I was 10 years old by myself and for you to think that you can just come in here and run shit is just stupid on your part." I said as I glared at him.

I tried to walk away, but he pulled me back and got in my face. "I don't care about none of that bitch cause like I said this is my damn house for the time bein. So you can follow my rules," he suddenly got real close and caressed my face. "Or I can make you."

I pushed him off of me. "Get the fuck off me. Look we obviously aren't going to come to an agreement so how about I continue to live the way I do and you can just stay away from me on the other side of the house."

I turned to walk away and this time he left me alone. When I was most of the way upstairs Derrick started talking.

"I'm not agreein' to that bullshit Alexis. You'll figure out soon enough that I run shit around this bitch now."

"It's Anya." I said, shaking my head and continuing on upstairs. While getting ready to leave I texted Ace just to make sure it was alright for me to come over even though I know he would say it was.

Me~ Can I come over
A♥️~ Yea, you straight
Me~ Yea why you ask
A♥️~ Ion know somethin' just seem off about you
Me~ You worry too much, I'm good

Sometimes I think it's so crazy how he can just tell when I'm not feeling alright. Grabbing a cardigan and putting on some shoes, I left my room and started to the front door only to hear Derrick.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"I'm going to my boyfriends house apparently." I kept walking to the door, but he grabbed me once again, this time gently. "Don't get smart. Be back late. If the party is still going on, go straight to your room." He said letting go and kissing my head before walking away quickly. I wiped my forehead walked out the door wiping my head. The fuck is wrong with him? Shaking my head, I got into my car and drove to Ace's house.
