Chapter 5

The look she had on her face was a smug one. What is she talking about? Ace and Jay are only my friends and she should know that. Maybe I have some feelings for Ace, but I would never act on them and we would never be a thing.

"Why do you look so surprised? Everybody knows they're your boyfriends. They've always shared things, even the girls that they've been with. It's just sad to see that you're one of them." She then turned to walk away like she didn't just say all that to me and basically call me a hoe.

"I'm not dating neither of them; they're just my friends. Look I know you don't care for our friendship so you wouldn't understand why they interact with me differently than they do with you, but that doesn't give you the right to just make up assumptions on me and call me a hoe. Did somebody tell you that? Is that why you stopped talking to me for a week?" I questioned her.

Tamyra's smug look turned sheepish in seconds. "My friend told our group and she was going on about how Ace and Jaylen wouldn't go out with her and our other friend because they were with you. I figured it was true because of how they are with you and how different they are toward's anybody else and me." She confessed.

I stared at her in complete shock. She really believed some girl she met in the beginning of the year rather than coming to me, the person in question. Somebody she's known for years to get answers. I just shook my head at her and turned to get in the car. Tamyra pulled me back and turned me to face her. She had an apologetic look on her face.

"Wait Anya -."

"Don't touch me." I said pulling away from her and pulling my sweater back up on my arm. "You obviously don't care about me enough to come and talk. I'm not that type of person. You want to know why Ace and Jaylen don't treat you like me? It's because they don't trust you. They don't care for you like that. I'm starting to think they were right not to."

"How could you say that? How could y'all not trust me? After all I've done for you?"

"What have you done for me Tamyra? I can list the things I've done for you, though." I said. Tamyra scoffed. "Girl what have you done for me?" She asked, putting her hand on her hip.

"Firstly, don't act like I didn't convince your parents to let you stay at home when they kicked your ass out. Like you didn't come to my house at three in the morning, crying because they disowned yo ass. Don't act like I haven't been there for you every single time you've come to my house needing a place to stay. I've taken my anxiety havin' ass to big-ass house parties to get my drunk friend, you, and take her home so she didn't make the wrong decisions or get hurt. You can't ever say I didn't ever do anything for you, but I can certainly say that I don't recall you doing anything for me."

She just sat there for a moment, not saying anything. Then she suddenly looked annoyed. "Nobody told you to do that Anya. You did that all on your own. If you had a problem with it, you shouldn't have done it." I looked at her like she was stupid but then just sighed.

"You right. You are absolutely right. I didn't have to do any of that but I thought I was being a friend, I thought that you would do the same for me if the roles were switched but I guess not. It still doesn't change the fact that you've never done anything for me or that the guys don't trust you Tamyra."

I'm surprised Ace didn't tell me to hurry up, we still need to go to school. I turn to the car to see that he and Jaylen are smoking a blunt. I sighed. I still have to get in, so I'll deal with it.

He knows I hate when he does that when I have to get in the car, they both do. So why do they continuously do it? Tamyra walked up to the window and started banging on it like she was crazy. She obviously doesn't know Ace. The window rolled down and a gun was pointed at her face by Ace.

"Ace!" I called. That seemed to get him to actually look at the person he was pointing the gun at. He's gonna get in trouble if he continues to do that. Once he did, he sighed and put his gun up.

"Whatchu want Samyra?"

"It's Tamyra." I said but was ignored.

"Anya said y'all don't trust me. Is that true?"

Ace was going to say something but he was cut off by Jay.

"Hell Nah we don't! The fuck told that we did?" He asked. "We don't trust nobody but Anya." Ace passed the blunt to him and he took it. He then looked at me jokingly.

"Anya you wanna hit?" Then he started to laugh, but it was cut off by Ace smacking him in the back of his head.

"Don't fuckin offer her no blunt dumbass." Jay smacked his teeth and glared at Ace. "I was just playin' damn nigga."

I couldn't help but laugh at them because they're like this all the time, always arguing. Tamyra discontinued their bickering by clearing her throat, making us remember that she was even here in the first place.

"Anya get in the car." Ace said. "I got something to spray your clothes with before we get to school." He added once he saw the look on my face. I didn't feel like arguing, so I just nodded my head. Tamyra scoffed at this and turned to me.

"You really gone let him talk to you like that? You just gone let him boss you around like you his bitch? Is he hurting you?" She asked getting unnecessarily angry while I continued to look at her like she was dumb. That wasn't demanding.

"Girl if you don't get on with that. I ain't even say nun demanding I'm just ready to go cause I'm done talking to you and we don't need to be around your negative energy. We got enough of that in our lives.

I looked at Tamyra once more, shook my head and got into the backseat of Ace's car. I hate the fact that the one friendship I had with a girl I thought I could finally trust failed once again because of the relationship I have with Ace and Jaylen.

I ended up taking my bag off a little too roughly and the pills I put in it this morning flew to the front, right in front of Jay and Ace.

Shit.

I immediately reach up to try and get them, but Jaylen picked them up and read the bottle before looking at me confused.

"Why you got these?" That seemed to catch Ace's attention. "What are they?" "Pain pills. Since when did you use these? You've never told us about you bein in any pain." Ace took the pills from Jaylen and read the bottle. "They aren't even prescribed to you. Did you take these from your mom?"

"She said I could have them this morning when I called and told her I had a headache. Is it a problem for me to have them?" I asked with a chuckle. Lying was never my strong suit.

Clearly.

"Why do you have the whole bottle then?" I was asked. "Just incase my headache comes back."

Jaylen and Ace at each other then at me. "You sure?" Ace asked.

"Yes, I'm sure Ace."

"Are you ?" Came from Jaylen. I sighed.

"Yes I'm positive my head was just hurting from last night. The reason you're picking me up now so can we go now?" I then took the pills from Ace and put them in my bag in the zipper part, making sure they were secure and not able to fly out.

Sitting back to put my seat belt on I look out the car and see that Tamyra's gone. Seeing her distracted me from situation but those pills just it come to. It made me realize that I'll have to go back home after school.

All I want to do is stay with Ace and Jaylen and be safe, but we can't always have what we want.
