*Minseok POV*I walked through the quiet streets, appreciating what I had more now that I was exposed to death. Kyungsoo and Jongin were forever on my mind, worrying me out of sleep and inducing stress. I entered a shop, a simple convenience store that had always been useful to me.
"Welcome," the shop assistant beamed, then got a better look at me.
"Minseok? Oh my god your back!"
"It's been a while, Luhan, how's life?"
"Good, I guess, how's Kyungsoo?
"Meh, doesn't he come over and visit?"
"No, he kind of disappears when your not here."
"Oh." I replied, feeling conflicted. "How about Jongin? See much of him?"
"Yeah! Plenty. But no Kyungsoo."
This made me dubious as to how often Kyungsoo left the house if not for school. It was unhealthy to stay pent up and practice whatever voodoo he does. I decided to speak to Jongin about it. I picked up some groceries and placed them on the kiosk counter. That was when my phone vibrated in my jeans pocket.
"Hello?" I asked, holding the devise to my ear.
"Minseok! Where have you been? You said you'd only be away for a week! One week!"
"I'm sorry Namjoon, something's come up."
"Jeez, what about your job?"
"I'll make up for it, but for now I'm taking leave."
"Is it Kyungsoo?"
"Mmmm," I agreed.
"Fine then, I'll talk to you later."
"Bye." Then the line went dead, leaving beeps to ring through my ears. Life was only getting more difficult. My phone rang again. I picked it up."Minseok?" They asked.
"Hey Jongdae, when are you coming over?"
"Later than planned, it turns out the planes are on hold due to the sudden change in weather."
"Change in weather?"
"Yeah, there's a huge storm headed your way, you knew about that, right?"
"Uhhh, maybe, I might've heard something."
"Anyway hon, stay inside, I'll try my best to make it over there soon."
"Love you."
"Love you too!" Click, beeeep.
The call ended and I swiped out of my contact saying 'Camel Dinosaur'. I was just about to slip my phone into my pocket and pay for the food when it buzzed once again. Who was it this time? I handed over the money and picked up my busy device.
"Yes? This is Minseok."
"I know, so I'm going to cut to the chase and ask you a question."
"What? Who is this?"
"Doesn't matter, just answer."
I paused, wondering wether I should just hang up or listen. "What is it?"
"I'm just a guy, handing out free weapons, would you be interested in the daggers I want to offer?"
"Uhhh, no! What are you on? Who the heck are you?!"
"As I said, unimportant, but if I were to say these daggers were the legendary Olympic 'Twin Blades', would you reconsider?"
My throat went dry and I couldn't find the words to answer. Olympic weapons? Weren't they part of the game Kyungsoo and Jongin were playing? Why was this stranger offering them to me?
"Why are you doing this? I'm not even a player?"
"Hmmmm, let's say I want something that someone stole from me."
"And? What's my role in your plan?"
"This is unspoken of, so don't repeat this. Once a mundane citizen, such as yourself and the other players, touch something gifted by the gods, you become capable of seeing, well, how should I describe them? Otherworldly objects?"
I thought for a moment, "And you want me to retrieve one?"
"Yes."
"What do I get out of this?"
"I am a death keeper of sorts, I could revive someone who died for you."
"Seriously? Like that god controlling the game?"
"Yeah, he and I stem from the same power type."
"I'll do it!" I replied eagerly. This could keep my family safe. Or if they win, I could revive him. Jongdae would be estatic."Good," the caller said, "Meet me tonight in the forest. Ten o'clock."
"Fine," I replied, nodding even though I knew he couldn't see me. I hoped. The line went dead and I slipped the phone into my jeans once again. I severely hoped this didn't make me a player. But something told me I wasn't far from it.*Jimin POV*
I ran through the green, flowering meadow. Jungkook was nowhere in sight. It was just me, the sun and the flowers. I liked it this way really, it was peaceful. I tugged at my far too big, white button up shirt which was tucked into very tight, high waisted brown jeans. I didn't own these, but I didn't dwell on it too much, life was amazing right now. Well within the premonition anyway.
