A/n: I recommend listening to Riptide by Vance Joy when it is mentioned.

"Bye, Dallas, I'm going to some creek with Grayson" I shouted as I headed towards the front door.

"Bye! Have fun! Stay safe!" he shouted back in return.

I walked outside being blessed with sight of Grayson poking his head out of his Jeep, a grand smile rested on his precious face. His smile was so bright, so bright it almost made me smile.

The hot sun heated the hot summer air as I made my way over to the passenger. I wave at Grayson before climbing in.

"Hi." I spoke softly.

"Hey!" His smiled was yet to fade as he backed out of the driveway.

Riptide by Vance Joy hummed lightly from the speakers.

"I was scared of dentists and the dark. I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations." Grayson sang along. He was absolutely terrible at singing, but it was almost adorable.

"Now all my friends are turning green. You're the magician's assistant in their dreams" I sang, sounding just as bad.

"OOOoooOoOooooooO OH" We shouted, rather than sang, together.

"And they come unstuck!" We shouted. "Lately I've been down to the riptides taken away from the dark side. I wanna be your left hand man. I love you when you're singing that song and I got a lump in my throat cause you're gonna sing the words wrong"

Grayson shook his head laughing lightly.

"I've always loved that song." Grayson smiled.

"Me too. Most iconic song of summer 2013" I added

"Hands down"

"Yes."

"This should be our song" Grayson smiled as he kept one hand loosely draped over the wheel.

I cleared my throat before looking away.

"Audrey and I had so many songs" I said slowly. As I looked up at his face that immediately softened.

"Oh I'm sorry... I wouldn't have said that if I knew..."

"No, you didn't know, it's fine. I need to move on sometime, anyways. This is our song. Okay?"

"Okay..."

"You know what I find ironic? One of Audrey and I's songs was Be Alright by Ariana Grande, we loved Ari, well I still do but still that's besides the point... Ari's song No Tears Left To Cry was our song as soon it came out not even a week before the accident. I find it ironic that we both pretty screamed the lyrics to both of those songs but when Audrey died I did the opposite of what the lyrics preached."

"It's not too late to start..."

"You're right." I nodded, knowing I had to pick it up and start living it up because we're gonna be alright.

"Oh gosh did you just make a pun out of the song lyrics?" He laughed as he shook his head.

"Maybe"

There was a brief silence between us. A comfortable silence. The music continued to play, as we sat there quietly for a a brief moment.

"How are you okay being in a car after what happened? I'm sorry if that was an insensitive question of me to ask, I'm just curious." Grayson broke the silence.
