Reyna and Jason's both grew up in San Francisco and attended the same school since they could remember. They were a dynamic duo, each had strengths to counteract the others weakness, and they were best friends who went everywhere together and did everything together. Not only did they take the same elective courses in mythology, Marching Band, and compete with the track team, they were often put in the same classes by their parents because their grades excelled when they were given the opportunity to bounce different notes and study habits off each other. Right after their freshmen year it was obvious that the two had romantic feelings for each other, and the dynamic duo became the power couple. After school and practice every day they would go to the park nearby Jason's old house and do whatever needed to be done. Under the Gazebo they would put sheet music binders together for their band, homework, but most importantly they got to do it together. Sophomore year they were both nominated to be Drum majors of their band, and under their leadership they were able to win multiple competitions along with attending a National competition held in Italy. Their band dubbed the two the "Praetors" of the band for their outstanding leadership and teamwork. Nothing had gone wrong up to that point and everything was looking up. Then Jason's dad told him to pack his bags for New York.

After a long phone call, Jason had told Reyna the situation and that he was moving to the opposite end of the country. She was angrier at Jason's father more than he was. Her heart was shattered, her world turned upside down, and for the first time in a long time she realized Jason wasn't going to be there to help her. Her other half would be split from her, and she would spend the rest of time searching to find it again. Jason was angry at his dad for accepting a job that would force him to uproot all his responsibilities and relationships he had spent most his life creating. He was furious at his father for not even negotiation a way for him to stay in San Francisco for two more years to finish high school. All the emotions that the two were plagued with didn't change the fact that their time was limited. They spent as much time as they could with each other before it was time for him to leave.

In the Airport Reyna desperately tried to hold her composure and not break down and cry. Jason was just about to board his terminal when he turned to her and handed her a golden gray hound stuffed animal. She had a silver one since she was three that she used to take everywhere she named Argentum, and before Jason Argentum was the one she leaned on when she felt worthless. Jason told her that even though he wouldn't be there in person, Aurum and Argentum would be there to remind her of what the two of them are together.

He kissed her goodbye

Then he boarded the plane

And she stayed until her lightning boy was in the air and out of sight

Then she broke down and cried

The two attempted to do a skype call at least once a week, along with regular texting. But with both having full plates in their lives and not having the other to help with the load, they struggled to stick to the routine. Around October Jason was involved in a car accident which left him with moderate amnesia, to where he couldn't remember the past three years of his life for nearly four months. Reyna never found out about the accident. She thought Jason had completely abandoned her. She thought that he found his actual other half. She thought he had moved on already. She thought he choose to forget about her. So naturally her heart grew colder and she resented him for it. Jason was never able to explain himself to Reyna. Not only was his phone broken in the crash, but she seemed to vanish from any social media, and he had no way to contact her. So, he lived in guilt for his junior year.

But now she's back

And he doesn't know what to do
