"Judging by the look on your face, he subscribed to you too," Calum's voice broke me out of my stupor, but my eyes stayed glued on the e-mail.
"H-He did," I muttered in shock, "He subscribed to you?"
I finally looked up at him and saw that he was wearing a huge goofy smile, which was answer enough. I returned my eyes to my phone screen, scanning across Ashton's username.
"Wait...you like him don't you?" my best friend teased. I shoved my phone in my pocket and cleared my throat.
"Of course I do! His videos are pretty good," I told him nervously. He didn't need to know that I was completely and totally fascinated by the Youtuber. No way.
"Liar!" Calum burst out, pointing at me accusingly. "You like like him!"
My eyes widened, but I caught myself, "Cal, we're not in third grade anymore. Don't be ridiculous."
"You're just mad because I'm right."
I scoffed and sat on the couch, my mind reeling. Calum plopped down next to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
"Are you mad at me?" he asked childishly.
I shook my head and grinned up at him, burying my head in his shoulder. "I could never be mad at you. You know that."
"Sometimes that worries me. I'm a dick sometimes," he joked.
"Yeah, but you're my dick," I paused. "Wait, that sounded wrong."
Then we burst into hysterical laughter, clutching at our stomachs and bending over in pain. Only he could make me laugh this much and I didn't know what I would do without him, honestly.
"Alright, upsie daisy," Calum stood and held his hands out for me. "We gotta unpack."
I groaned, but took his hands anyways, allowing him to heft me onto my feet again and lead me to the room we'd put all our unpacked boxes in.
"Oh god," I breathed.
-
Twelve boxes, four rooms, and two aching backs later, I was in the kitchen, filming my next video.
"Hey loves! Welcome to the newest episode of 'Cassie Sucks At'! Today, we're going to be cooking because, well, I really suck at that."
Calum's head popped into the room as he smirked. "She really does."
I narrowed my eyes and pushed his head back out the door. "Hush."
Clearing my throat, I then went into a full explanation about what I was going to make. After that, I actually started to create it and - lets just say - it was disastrous.
My end product was a burnt circular thing that was supposed to be Chicago style pizza. But I held it up to the camera with no shame.
"And this is why you don't let me cook anything. Ever," I cringed.
"Dammit Carissa! I wanted pizza!" Calum's muffled voice sounded from his room and I giggled.
I placed the burnt creation on the table and wiped my hands on my apron to finish my video.
"That was all for today! I hope my failure was at least semi amusing," I smiled brightly. "Before I go, however, I want to inform all my amazing viewers that me and Calum are going to be at Perth next week for VidCon!"
I play danced around the kitchen in excitement. I was extremely pumped when Cal and I had finally gotten out tickets. We didn't stop reeling on about it for days.
"Hope to see some of you guys there! more info will be in my next video, soooo check us out!"
I finally stopped my recording and hurriedly took all my stuff to the room, ignoring Calum's exclamation to 'clean that shit up'.
Putting the 'editing video, do not enter' sign that we made on my door, I wasted no time in syncing all my footage to my laptop.
-
I finally fell backward onto my bed, my video edited, tweeted, and uploaded.
A knock came from the other side of my door and I let out a tired 'come in'.
"Hey, Rissa," the tan boy entered my room with two mugs. "How's the video?"
"Too much work, Clum," I told him, sitting upright. "Is that...?"
"Hot chocolate? It seems that it is," he smirked and made himself comfortable on my bed, handing me a cup.
I smelled it and let out a small moan, "You're the best."
"So I've been told," he teased before taking a sip alongside me.
Halfway into our hot chocolate / deep talks session, my phone buzzed with a new twitter mention. I nearly dropped my mug as I read it.
@ThatAsh: This is how you make someone fall in love with you in 5 minutes: http://youtu.be.com/yU7e85mF94l @sassycassie
Cal, who was looking at my phone over my shoulder, screeched like a pterodactyl. I screeched alongside him, feeling my heart tear out of my chest.
"HE SO LIKES YOU!"
"HE MIGHT!"
"AND YOU LIKE HIM BACK!"
"I THINK SO!"
"WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO?!"
We had been jumping on my bed, hot chocolate put on the table safely, but at his question, I stopped.
"I...don't know," I mumbled and then my hand flew to my forehead as I say back down. "Holy shit I don't know. What do I do?"
"First of all, you gotta calm down," he said soothingly. "Just be the flirty and beautiful girl I know you can be. He'll be wrapped around your finger."
"You're right. Okay. I can do this."
"Fuck yeah you can! Now tweet him back!"
My fingers moved swiftly as I opened the twitter app. I hesitated slightly as the composition box for replies opened, but I pushed it away and let my words flow.
-Ashton's POV-
When my phone buzzed with a reply from Cassie on twitter, I was kind of shocked. I expected her to be the shy type of girl to sleep over what she would say to a guy. Maybe I was wrong.
As I looked over her reply, my face went from shock to a huge overgrown smile in seconds.
@SassyCassie: @thatash thanks babes! i may or not be slightly in love with you (and your videos), too ;-)
Holy shit.
