Worsening

The fever got worse. A headache made its way to Jin's head and settled there. Beads of sweat were on his forehead, trickling down. His eyes were closed and his breath was coming in pants.

Every breath was like a glass shard, cutting into his throat. Everybody was yelling, worry drowned in their voice. Finally, they carried Jin to the nearest hospital, but that was their last option. The bills would take a huge chunk out of them.

Since they can't work yet and their oldest is sick, everything was chaos. They put Jin in a bed and hooked him up to some fluids. The fever was apparently extremely high, his body temperature was 40.1 degrees celsius. His face was flushed and sticky from all the sweat.

They wiped his body with cold water, and were surprised to see his ribcage poking out. "He must  not have eaten much" Jin was too skinny for an average 15 year old.

"Where is his family?" Surely those kids aren't...actually?"

Jin was stable, for now. He was still running a high fever and would have to stay here for a while.

The boys were waiting, not so patiently. Pacing, crying and worrying about their hyung. The doctor came and they all stood up, anxious.

"He was a high fever, probably from overworking. Why is he working anyway? He's 15! Where are his parents?"

"We don't have any."
The doctors eyes widened with surprise. "How are you living then?"
"Jin Hyung"

"He quit school and started working everyday, night and anytime. Our parents money bought us an apartment so Jin has to pay rent. We are not old enough to work.."

"H-how?"
Everyone was quiet, the news was a shock to the doctor.

We filed into Jin"s room, frowning when we saw the state he was in. The maknae's started to cry, their hyung was unwell, their favourite hyung. I cursed under my breath. When can I work? There wasn't much time before I was allowed to...

Why?
Why did he have to be the oldest?
Why did I have to be born later?

The world was unfair.
