Chapter 12

~Sonic's P.O.V~

Everyone was gathered around, panting and exhausted from fighting. The clones had stopped attacking, and Infinite was hovering above us. He seemed to chuckle,

"Make peace with your fate, because your lives are now over!" He bellowed as the sun lowered closer and closer to the planet. He glanced at the sun, before flying off.

-Whatever you're doing (Y/N), it better be done now!- I thought to myself, trying to catch even a glimpse of the (a/t).

I growled, standing in a fighting stance as Eggman gleefully glared down at everyone, laughing his annoying laugh "Three, two, one..."

"(Y/N)...?" Tails' voice came through the ear piece, filled with worry. I bit back the stabbing pain in my stomach at the thought that something had happened to the (a/t), wondering if we were all about to die. I closed my eyes tightly, turning my head from the burning sun, the heat from it starting to make me sweat.

"Zero!" Eggman yelled.

But nothing happened. I turned back to the sky, to see a bright flash, before a figure started to fall to the ground.

-(Y/N)...-

"The sun! It's gone!" Knuckles smiled triumphantly, causing the others to cheer.

"Wh-What? What just happened?" The confused scientist asked, scratching his head. Suddenly, the falling (a/t) caught his eye, and he let out a growl that made me frown. He took off in his robotic space-craft, heading straight towards her.

I took a glance at the others who celebrated, before running off after the doctor. No way was he going to hurt (Y/N). I watched as she used the grappling hook to land, crumbling to the ground. The phantom ruby she held shattered, and she let out a groan.

"Impossible!" Doctor Eggman snarled, "I thought all the prototypes were destroyed!"

"A costly oversight, Doctor." I smiled as Tails landed in front of the (a/t), helping her to her feet, "That's why I always check and double check as any good scientist would."

(Y/N) looked around, as if in a daze. She had a blood nose, and looked pale, but otherwise unharmed. I jogged over, patting her on the back,

"Nice one (Y/N), you really saved our behinds! And cutting it close like that, are you sure you aren't copying me?" I smiled as she gave a small chuckle, glad I could still lighten the mood. She stumbled a little, landing into me.

"Easy partner, just take a breather okay? We'll take it from here." I sat her down, before nodding to Tails, who set to work on making sure the (a/t) was okay.

Facing Eggman once more, I gave a smirk, "So now what huh?"

He growled, if looks could kill, I'd be dust, before Infinite joined his side.

"What happened?" He asked, dis-interested at the most.

"These pests have gotten in the way again... But no matter..." The doctor smiled, "Infinite, go get plan B ready."

The jackal nodded, before flying off. I growled and started chasing him, no way was he going to get away. My ear twitched as Knuckles' voice came over the ear piece.

"This is the turning point, guys! Time to press our advantage and kick major butt!"

Cheers once again erupted from the group as the fight started once again, clones appearing as the original plan backfired. However, my focus was on Infinite. Whatever he had planned, it had to be stopped.

Sorry it's so short and crappy... I'm not actually good with Sonic's P.O.V and I admit at some point I started writing in third person... Please forgive me...
