Not Going to my House

Bex's Apartment
Jonah's POV
   Andi and I walked back to Bex's apartment. I couldn't believe that she said that to my mother. I was shocked and happy that she stood up for me against my own mother. When we got to Bex's apartment, Andi rang the doorbell. Bex opened the door and she look surprised.

   "Hey Andi... and Jonah. Shouldn't you be at home, Jonah; aren't your parents worried?" She asked confused.

   "No, they definitely aren't worried" I said and looked at the ground. I felt Andi squeeze my hand.

   "Well, come on inside." Bex said.

   Before we walked in, Andi asked me, "Are you ok?" And I replied by nodding my head, yes.

   Bex was still confused and asked, "I'm still kinda confused to why Jonah is here at 10:30 at night."

   Andi turned to me and asked, "Do you want to tell her?"

   "Um, you can tell her, if you don't mind." I said because I really didn't want to explain the story twice.

   "Ok" Andi said.

   We sat on the couch and Andi started to explain everything that I told her at the park to Bex. I tried to toon her out because I didn't want to listen to the horrible story of my life. I started to think about what my parents would be doing right now. They were probably very mad and they are probably going to beat me even more when and if I go home. I really don't want to go home, but I know that I can't—

   My train of thought was interrupted by Andi calling my name.

  "Huh" I said, confused about what was going on.

  Bex asked, "Are you comfortable with staying here or no?"

  I replied, "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

  "I don't know? Just wondering. We have to figure out the sleeping arrangements." Bex said looking at both me and Andi with a suspicious look on her face.

  I guess Andi figured out what she meant because she said, "Mom!"

  "Ok" Bex said grinning, "I'm going to try to find the air mattress. I know it's around here somewhere."

   Bex left the room to find the air mattress. I checked my phone to see if one of my parents texted or called me. Just then, Andi put her hand on my right hand and said, "You'll be alright."

   I don't know what it was but her saying that made me feel safe and calmed me down. I shut off my phone and put it away. Andi smiled at me, then she rested her head on my shoulder and held my hand. We sat on the couch for a very long time just listening to each other breathe.

   I almost fell asleep, but then Bex said, "Found it!" which made both me and Andi jump a little. We looked at each other and started laughing because of how Bex scared us.

Bex came into the room, saw us laughing, and said, "What?" We were continuously laughing so then Bex said, "I don't know which room to put the air mattress in."

Andi looked at me, smiled, then looked at her mom.

Bex's eyes widened and she said, "No."

Andi replied, "Yes" while smiling

You know right about now I'm totally lost of where this conversation is going?
