Chapter 2

A/N
This is going to start when Anna has her stitches out and she can move again and they're still at the quarry and Shane is her friend now

I woke up to laughing and shushing, I stirred and rubbed my eyes and covered myself with the blanket "Ready 3,2,1 now" I heard someone whisper. I opened my mouth to tell them to shut up, but my mouth got filled up with water. I sat up and started to cough. I looked up when I heard wheezing and saw Carl and Sophia holding their sides and wiping their eyes.

I stared at them and they slowly stopped laughing and stared back "Run" I commanded. They took off running and I was right behind them running 'hmmm who should I pick Carl or Sophia. Carl Sophia Carl Sophia. Eeny meeny miney Moe catch a Sophia by the toe' I thought.

I ran towards Sophia she was small which gives her more speed but I used all my muscles and finally got her. "Gotcha" I said, throwing her over my shoulder. Sophia laughed loudly which made everyone look over to us "Hey everybody let's drop Sophia into the quarry" I said.

They all smiled and some let out a laugh and they all began to follow, except for Ed, I was near the cliff and looked around the group trying to find the perfect person to help me throw Sophia in. "Carl come help me throw Sophia into the water!" I exclaimed.

Carl cheered and ran towards me "Grab her feet and I'm warning you she has a hell of a kick" I warned him. Carl nodded and grabbed her feet.

We started to rock her back and forth "Everybody count down with us from 3!" I yelled. Everyone smiled and started to count down

We all laughed when Sophia went into the water. When suddenly I felt a pair of arms around my waist and the next second I was under the water. I swam up and blew water out of my nose I looked up and saw Shane pushed me "Shane you dick. Why did you do that!?" I yelled at him.

"Sorry honey perfect opportunity" he replied.

I nodded and stared at Carl, who was behind Shane about to push him, "Now Carl!" I yelled.

Carl ran at Shane and tackled him into the water. Now Sophia, Carl, Shane, and I are both in the quarry.

I looked up and saw everyone laughing their butts off "When I get up there you guys better be in the water." I stated, hopping out.

People started to quickly untie their shoes, rip off their socks, and quickly jumped into the pool, except for mom, "Mommy come here I want huggies" I said, in a child voice. Mom shook her head no and I started to smile ear to ear "Wrong answer" I stated. I ran to her and tackled her into the water with me. We both swam up and took a big gasp of air. Mom swatted water at me when I started to laugh.

We started to play in the water for hours and when our skin started to prune we got out. We all walked back to the fire, sat down, and told funny stories about ourselves, but someone mentioned we had work to do. We all looked around not saying anything, but we all got up and started to do chores around the camp.

I saw mom carrying a basket of dirty clothes I ran up to her and walked with her to the quarry "Hey mom can I help you girls do laundry?" I asked her. She looked at me and smiled, "Sure sweetie we would love to have you join us." She stated, while nodding her head. I smiled and walked with mom talking about our life and what I did when this happened.

We were by the girls and started to do the laundry I sighed and stopped scrubbing "Why do we have to do all the work?" Andrea asked.

"The world ended didn't you get the memo" I stated, laughing. She looked at me, shook her head, and started to wash the clothes again. We all discussed what we missed I wasn't listening until Andrea spoke which made us all laugh "I miss my vibrator" she stated.
We all looked at each other and chuckled. Mom looked at Ed and back to us "Me too" mom replied. We all laughed really loud making Ed walk up to us "Gross" I said, disgusted.

"What's so funny?" Ed asked.

"Just swapping war stories Ed" Andrea replied. We all went back to work while Ed stood behind us, smoking his cigarette. 'Can't this bastard just leave already we don't need him here stinking up the place' I thought. I looked behind me and he stood there looking at us "Problem Ed?" I asked, anger in my voice.

He looked at me "Nothin' that concerns you" he sneered. I rolled my eyes, "You outta focus on your work. This ain't no comedy club" he continued. I looked over and saw Shane standing a few feet away watching Ed like a hawk.

Ed lit up another cigarette 'I hope you choke on it bastard' I thought. Andrea looked behind her and saw Ed still there. Andrea got up and walked towards Ed, "I tell you what" Andrea said, "You don't like how your laundry is done. You are welcome to pitch in and do it yourself. Here." Andrea stated, throwing a wet shirt at Ed. Ed grabbed the shirt and threw it really hard at her neck "Oh!" Andrea said in surprise. Ed smoked his cigarette "It ain't my job missy" he stated.

I got up and stood by Andrea "Then what is your job Ed" I said, sneering at his name. He looked at me and I continued "Sitting on your ass and smoking cigarettes?"
"Well, it sure as hell ain't listening to some little whore working on the corner" he said, looking at me. I nodded my head and started to smile 'hmmm I'm a whore now... that's a new one' I thought.

Ed looked at Carol "Come on. Let's go" he ordered. Carol got up and started walking to him. I caught her arm still staring at Ed "Mom you are not going with him you stay right behind me" I said. "Come on now, you heard me" he said. Carol grabbed my arm and I looked at her, she smiled "It's okay" she said. Ed grabbed my shoulder and made me turn towards him "Hey, don't think I can't knock you on your ass" he threatened. Ed grabbed mom and started to walk away from us. I grabbed mom's other hand and pulled her to me "She's not going anywhere with you" I sneered. Ed grabbed Carol again and we all tried to grab her again when Ed smacked her in the face. After that happened I saw fire, all I saw was red and all I wanted to do right now is to see Ed's blood on the ground.

I pushed mom into Amy and Andrea and tackled Ed. I started to swing left and right hooks, "you (punch) don't (punch) touch (punch) my (punch) family (punch) again (punch punch)" Ed grabbed my hand and punched me in the nose. I fell off of him, he got up and started hitting me back.

Shane ran over and tackled Ed off me and started beating him senseless. After Shane was done beating Ed, Carol ran over to him and started to apologize.

Shane ran over to me and looked at my face "how bad is it?" I asked him. He touched my cheek but pulled it back when I hissed in pain "You have a broken nose, swollen eye, and a busted lip" he answered. I held my head and looked over at Shane "I don't feel so good" I said. Shane nodded his head and picked me up, I started to cuddle into his chest 'he's so warm' I thought. My eyes started to close and the last thing I heard was "Yeah that happens" from Shane.

Shane's POV
After I was done beating Ed up, Carol ran to his unconscious body and started to apologize I shook my head at her and ran to Anna she looked like shit. She looked at me and asked how bad is it. After I told her about the damage I picked her up and walked to the RV.

Everyone looked at Anna, worry in their eyes "She's okay everybody" I said. They nodded and got back to work. I spotted some campers doing nothing "Ed is by the quarry I need you guys to pick him up and carry him back to his tent" I ordered. They nodded and walked to Ed.

I opened the RV door and set her on the couch. I heard the door open and in walked Carol she looked at me and looked at the ground "Thank you" she whispered I nodded my head and went back outside continuing my work around camp.
