Chapter 7

Shane's POV
When Rick stepped out of the van my smile instantly dropped into a frown. I looked at Anna to see what she was doing and I saw her nod, talked to Glenn, then went into his tent. My heart started beating rapidly and my stomach started to hurt but I shook my head and walked to Rick to clear my head "It's good to see you again, Rick."

He nodded, while holding Carl he took out his hand and shook mine "Thanks for keeping my family safe" he replied, "I owe you big time."

I nodded and smiled at him in thanks and in a you're welcome gesture he then went to the fire and started to talk to the group while I went to Glenn's tent. I opened the flap of the tent and saw Anna laying there staring up at the ceiling with red, puffy eyes. I sat down beside her and we didn't say anything for a while.

"Are you and Lori a thing?" Anna asked, looking at me.

I shook my head and stared her right in the eyes "Not anymore I honestly thought her husband died she was lonely and I was also and we just did it but I promise it didn't mean anything I stopped when you came into camp yeah I was a dick to you but I didn't know if you were gonna hurt us and every day you are here my feeling for you grew" I admitted, rubbing the back of my neck, looking down, and blushing.

She sat on her knees and brought her hand to my chin and made me look up "My feeling for you grew too but I'm scared you are gonna do what you just did to Lori use me for sex and leave me for another girl" she confessed, starting to cry again.

I pulled her in a hug my hand on the middle of her back and my other hand petting her hair, I kissed her hair and set my face in the crook of her neck, smelling her making me calm down "I will never ever do that to you I promise when I walked in here and saw your tears my heart broke into two and I never want to feel like that again" I whispered, pulling back so I can see her face "Now let's go outside, watch the fire and eat the fish, and let's go back to my tent I don't trust you with pizza boy" I said.

She smiled and started to laugh, she hugged me and got out the tent with me following her.

Anna POV
I got out of the tent and sat by the fire listening to Rick's story I was really interested in his story that I didn't realize that Shane put me on his lap and everyone was staring.

"Shanna" Andrea teased.

I looked at her and stuck my middle finger "Fuck you" I said laughing.

"Oh honey we all know who's gonna get laid tonight" she replied, winking at me.

I blushed and curled up in Shane's chest while everybody else laughed at us.

"You got a good one Shane if I were you I better keep her before she finds another man" Rick commented.

We all laughed and joked around until we heard a bang. We all looked at Ed's fire to see he put another log in the fire pit.

"Hey Ed wanna rethink that log?" Shane questioned.

"It's cold man." Ed snapped back.

"The cold doesn't change the rules does it?" Shane snapped back, "Keep our fires low so we don't draw attention."

"Why don't you mind your own business and Anna you should be over here with your family" Ed yelled at us.

Shane and I looked at each other and he saw fear in my eyes and he didn't like seeing me fearful. He put me down on the log, kissed my forehead, and walked over to Ed.

"Why do you belong there and not here?" Rick questioned.

I looked up at him and smiled "That man is my father" I responded. I saw Rick's mood change from questioning to shocked, "He drinks and smokes he also abuses my family. He hit me a bunch of times he hit me and gave me a black eye and a crooked nose a few days before you came here but Shane took care of him" I continued.

Rick looked at me, pity in his eyes I smiled and looked at the fire then suddenly I was up in the air I squeaked and I was brought down I looked over and saw I was sitting on Shane's lap "Don't do that you dick" I said, slapping him in the chest.

He laughed and kissed my temple "sorry" he apologized.

We all talked and laughed but someone said we should get to bed we all agreed and everyone but me and Shane went into their tent.

Suddenly I started to laugh, Shane looked at me and cocked his head to the side "I just realized that you look so adorable blushing" I confessed.

He smiled and looked down, he lifted up his head and stared into my eyes. We stared into each other's eyes and slowly started to lean in.

"Hey what are you guys doing by the campfire!" Glenn yelled from his tent.

I groaned and put my head on Shane's shoulder "We're heading into bed now Glenn good night!" I yelled back.

"Good night!" He yelled, closing up his tent and going to sleep.

Me and Shane went into the tent, "Glenn's a cockblocker" I blurted out. Shane looked at me and started to laugh, I started to laugh with him.

I walked to Shane, putting my hands on his neck, his hands on my hips "Now where were we?" I whispered, staring into his eyes.

"I think right about here" he whispered, leaning in.

We leaned in closer and closer. His breath mixed in with mine until I closed the gap. His lips fits perfectly with mine, my stomach, heart, and mind going crazy.

Shane deepened the kiss, he picked me up and laid me down on the sleeping bag.

We made out for a few more minutes and we slowly went to bed, me being the little spoon and him being the big spoon. He kissed the back of my head and tucked his head into my neck and we went to bed just like that 'best night ever!'
