What Words Can Do (TOMARRY)

Year 3 ◇ Part 5

Harry's POV

I thought everyone was sleeping, so I grabbed my invisibility cloak and snuck down to the common room. Hermione was still awake, reading in a chair by the fireplace. I slipped on my invisibility cloak, but it was too late. "I know you're there, Harry," I could hear the frown in Hermione's voice. Sighing in defeat, I take the cloak off.

"It's not what it looks like," I try to lie.

"Then what is it?" Hermione asked. "To me, it looks like you're about ready to sneak out."

"Okay, so it's exactly what it looks like," I sighed. "I'm just going to go meet someone, okay?"

"At this time?" Hermione crossed her arms. "Who is it and why are you going to see them."

"Just a friend," I answered. "As for why, just because I don't get to see them very much."

"So they're older and in a different house?" I nodded, because technically she isn't wrong. "I'll find out who it is. Just wait."

"I doubt you will," I shrugged and walked out.

I knew Hermione would go see if she could get the Marauders Map. I made precautions about this, patting the pocket where the map was tucked safely in place. About halfway to my destination, I saw Professor Lupin. He was arguing with Snape. Something about needing a potion. I shrugged it off and continued walking.

After about ten more minutes of walking, I saw the entrance to the chambers. Looking to make sure no one was around, I took off the invisibility cloak. I thought I saw the small glow of an animal's eye. It was gone in a second, so I assumed it was nothing. I walked closer to the chambers' entrance and said, "Open." in Parseltongue like I had the year before.

I slide down and made my way to where I had found Tom last night. "Hey, Harry," I heard. I looked around and saw Tom smiling. "It's good to see you in person again."
