*this is before the previous chapter*

Tom was taken by the Ministry workers, out of Hogwarts, and away from Harry. He forced his face to turn blank despite his inner thoughts. He didn't know what was going to happen to him, but that didn't matter. All that mattered to him was what was going to happen to Harry. The ministry obviously would have found out that Harry had known who he was.

Once they got off of Hogwarts grounds, the Ministry Officials holding him apparated them to a large building. He scowled at the brick building, all of the small windows containing bars. Something in Tom made him calm, formulating plan. He couldn't let them do this so easily. Tom refused to get locked up in Azkaban for very long.

He was handed over to some human guards before dragged away through a long hallway. Everywhere he looked, dementors loomed the hallway, making the scene much more depressing. Tom forced himself to look at the ground and thought about Harry.

His messy black hair.

The lightning scar on his forehead.

His vibrant green eyes.

The smile he wore when he was happy.

How he fidgeted with his wand or a quill whenever he was nervous.

The way he would huff when he was annoyed.

How he would sneak into Tom's dorm on colder nights to cuddle.

Just the way Harry was.

Nothing would make him forget anything about him.

When Harry asked him to go to the Yule Ball.

Their first dance.

Their first kiss.

The first time Harry had verbally opened up to him about the Dursleys.

How he killed the evil family to save him.

Everything he and Harry had done together was better than anything he'd ever experienced.

Everyone said it was impossible. Tom Riddle-the Dark Lord-was conceived under a love potion. There was no way he could feel love.

And yet . . . here he is, in love with Harry Potter.

He'd never felt those feelings before. Even Tom thought it was impossible. There would be no way that someone could make him all jittery. Especially not the boy his future self was supposed to kill. It just didn't make sense.

But that's how life works. Sometimes you just have to sit back and let life lead you. Whether the place life takes you is good or bad. Sometimes it's better to experience both.

Though going to Azkaban was not what Tom had planned. He expected to take his last year of school peacefully then get a small cottage for himself and Harry. But now that was ruined. All because someone had ratted him out. But who? Who put him in this unfortunate state where he was forced away from his only happiness? Who ruined his life? He'd been given a second chance, only for someone else to come and ruin it.

No, Tom told himself, you'll get out and be able to get back to Harry.

One by one his memories passed by.

His first conversation with Harry.

The first time he met Harry.

Just ever single happy moment he'd had. All which involved Harry in some way.

Then they were gone. Everything that he'd just remembered was gone.

Instead, he was left staring a guard in the eye, confused as to why he wasn't in the Chamber, planning on kidnapping Ginny Weasley. The perfect pawn to be able to kill Potter. But he was here, in a place he could vaguely make out as Azkaban.

"I think it worked," the guard smiled, showing his teeth that were yellow and rotted.

The guards took Tom to a cell, rather harshly he must add. He felt something against his side and dug through his jacket. Inside, he found his diary. When he opened it, he expected to see a recent message for Ginny. Instead, it was someone else. Weird. He shrugged and decided to talk to the new person.

That Harry kid was weird, Tom thought, shaking his head slightly. But why did I have this feeling in my gut that I should know who he is?

Tom forced the thought away as he layed down. He shifted into an uneasy sleep, thinking about what was going to come to him in the upcoming days.
