So this is going to be different than the book. They're going on the horcrux search through the summer.

"Come with me," Harry begged. Tom looked at him sadly, kissing him softly.

At first Tom had said no because of the risk of him being found, but figured him on the move would probably be better. "Okay," he nodded. "I'll go. But only because someone needs to keep you in your place."

"Sure," Harry smiled, rolling his eyes. "That's the reason." The two were in their room packing. Harry went over to the dresser and looked at himself in the mirror. Tom walked over and wrapped his arms around his waist.

"What's the matter, Love?" he asked, kissing Harry's cheek.

"I-it's nothing," Harry lied, forcing himself out of Tom's arms and went back to packing. Tom sighed, going to sit on the bed.

"Sit down," he commanded. Harry looked at him for a second before sitting down. "Now tell me what's wrong."

"I just keep thinking about Dumbledore's death," he murmured quietly. "How am I going to fight in the final battle if I couldn't even handle one person's death? What if I lose Moony or Padfoot or Ron or you?"

Tom stroked Harry's hair softly. "You're brave, Harry," Tom whispered. "This is war. It's not easy, but it's not supposed to be. And you're n-not going to lose me." Tom stuttered a bit at the end, but Harry didn't notice.

Harry nodded against his chest. "Okay," he agreed. Then he stood up and began packing again. Tom looked at his lap for a second before standing up to help.

In about an hour, they were standing outside a forest waiting for Ron and Hermione.

"See, I told you they would be here already," Hermione's voice rang through the open. The two came into view, both carrying backpacks like Tom and Harry's.

Ron rolled his eyes, pulling Harry in for a hug. "It feels like forever, mate."

"It's been a week," Harry chuckled. Not much else was said as everyone knew the urgency of finding the different horcruxes.

A long two weeks passed before they found a locket. "It belonged to Salazar Slytherin," Tom explained. "Don't wear this for long periods of time or the wearer goes through great pains until it's taken off."

"Well how did it get out here?" Harry asked.

"More importantly," Hermione spoke up, "how do we destroy it?"

"I'm not sure how it got here. An animal most likely that ended up dying because of the locket. As for how we destroy it, well we need something powerful. More than just magic. If I had to guess, using magic to try to destroy it will only make it worse."

"I can wear it first," Ron volunteered, grabbing the locket from Harry. "We can go in mile or so shifts. Who knows how long we'll actually have it before finding something to destroy it with." The remaining three nodded and began walking. It was early in the morning and they'd already been walking for an hour.

A week passed and still no sign of any other sign of anything. "This is getting stupid," Harry announced when they sat down to eat lunch. "We're not getting any closer than we were since we found this dumb locket. By this point, we're going to end up back in Diagon Alley again."

"Harry," Tom placed his hand on Harry's knee as he began speaking, "we're going to figure things out. I can try connecting to my older self to see if we can get any hints."

"Are you sure this is where we can find one of the horcruxes?" Ron asked, skeptically. They were currently standing outside of Gringotts.

"I'm sure," Tom nodded. "But I can't go in, they'll recognize me. You all are smart, you can figure out a way to get into Bellatrix's account. I'll be waiting at the apparition spot in the back to leave."

Hermione, Harry, and Ron walked into the wizarding bank. "I think I have an idea," Hermione said. "But it may not work."

"The best we can do is try," Ron said.

The trio walked to a table as far away from the goblins as they could. "So I've been studying over the week before we began the hunt," Hermione began. "According to Gringotts Bank History and Rules, one can only get into another's account if they have a signed slip. But it didn't say what they go through to check the reality of the letter."

"Like Ron said earlier," Harry said, "all we can do is try."

Apparently, Goblins don't give a fuck about permission. The Goblin they had spoke to didn't give them a second glance before leaving them back to the vaults. "Make it quick," the goblin grumbled before walking away.

It took 10 minutes before they found what they needed, but soon they were heading out of bank, Hufflepuff's cup in hand.

The last two months passed without anything much happening. They had come across the Sword of Gryffindor and were able to destroy the locket. Other than that, though, nothing else had happened, and now it was time for Hogwarts to start back up again.

"Keep a look out," Tom reminded. "I'll tell you if I find anything else out."
