Poem to Jada

A flower sat near the sidewalk

I stared at it and couldn't talk

Thoughts came racing through my mind

And though I see this flower all the time

It was this moment I knew

This flower reminded me of you

It stood there, so strong and tall

You'd need a lot of force to make it fall

And even though it stood all alone

It seemed just fine on its own

It was like you, independent

Yeah. All the other flowers got you bent

What had also caught my eye

Was this flowers ability to shine

So beautiful and radiant

Yep that's you, one hundred percent

This flower had the ability to make me smile

And like you, it was worth wild

This little flower near the side walk

Brought on all these thoughts

And I just wanted you to know
