So focused on reading her book, she didn’t notice the knock on her window. As she flipped through the worn pages, she again didn’t notice the window quietly slide open, and a figure silently slip in. When she felt a tap on her shoulder she screamed and fell out of her chair with her book still in her hands. But her fear ebbed away into annoyance when she saw Marceline smirking over her. “Didn’t know you could scare that easily,” she teased.
Bonnibel glared at her and got up, taking off her reading glasses. “For your information I don’t.” Marceline simply laughed.
“So what’s up Bonni? Care to explain what your plan is?” Marceline asked, crossing her legs in the air.
“Well, there’s a very fishy relationship resort in the Urban City and couples are going missing, so I thought we should check it out.” Bonnibel said, sitting on her bed.
“A relationship center? Really Bonni? So, what? Are we gonna have to act like a couple or something?” Marceline asked with a frown. Bonnibel felt her cheeks heat up a little and she nodded, “We will unfortunately. But it’s the only way to get in.”
“Wow, never expected you to...swing that way.” Marceline teased, trying to maintain her laughter as she was shot a death glare.
“Of course I don’t swing that way! We’re faking this! Stop being so dumb.” She said with a groan. Marceline burst out laughing, and laughed so hard that she dropped to the ground with a loud thud. Now it was Bubblegum’s turn to smirk, as she watched Marceline rub her ass with a pained expression.
A few minutes later, Bubblegum called for Lady Rainicorn, and they both hopped on, and flew to the city. They passed effortlessly through the smoggy clouds that were marked with earthy colors, and landed easily by the front of the resort. “Thank you again Lady,” Bonnibel said as she eased off her friend.
Marceline followed behind her friend, with her bag in tow. They entered through the large double doors, and they walked through the glossy white halls that Bonnibel felt she was going to become very familiar with. When they reached the front desk, she was greeted with a different hotel clerk this time, now a tall woman with pale hair and midnight colored skin.
“Hello! I’m...Bonnibel and this is Marceline,” Bonni introduced, her voice cracking on her friends name. “Hello! How long would you two like to stay for?” The woman asked.
Marceline said, “Probably a few days-”
“Actually probably a week or so.” Bonnibel corrected, feeling Marceline glaring at the back of her head.
The woman scribbled down something and then she turned around and grabbed a room key and two handouts. Before handing them their things, the woman said, “We serve everyone of different races, gender, social status, and sexuality,” which made the two of them cringe, “So please enjoy your time!”
They went upstairs to the second floor, and Marceline opened the door, their room being #208. “We’re finally here! Now I can take a shower,” Marceline said with a moan of relief, rushing off to the bathroom. Bonnibel rolled her eyes, wondering why she had to be with someone so classless, and walked into the main bedroom area.
There was a queen sized bed pushed against the wall, and there was a table along with a large window that led to a balcony. There also appeared to be two thin books and one large one that were laying in a disarray on the wooden table, all of them very colorful. The books in order were called; ‘Sex and Communication’, ‘The Karma Sutra’, and ‘The Do’s and Don’ts of Relationships’. She decided to open the Karma Sutra one, having heard about it before and how it survived the war many hundreds of years ago, but immediately closed it when she saw a woman and a man bending in a way she didn’t even know was possible. Of all the books to survive the war, it had to be that one...
She turned around and flopped on the bed, enjoying how she was basically sinking into it. Her bed at home wasn’t even this good... When she felt a poke on her shoulder she realized she had fallen asleep, so she rolled around to see Marceline staring at her, one brow raised. “Can you scoot?” She asked, towelling her hair off. Bonni then noticed she wasn’t wearing any pants and shut her eyes. “Please put on some pants first.”
When she opened her eyes again, Marceline was wearing gray sweatpants, and was brushing her fingers through her long hair. She then slipped under the covers next to her friend and her eyes lit up. “Oh Glob, this bed is so comfortable.” Marceline sighed, with a small smile. “I might actually be able to sleep tonight.”
“Wait, you don’t sleep?” Bonnibel asked, lifting herself onto one elbow.
“No, not really. I’m a vampire remember? We don’t really need sleep.” She explained, turning around to face the Princess. “Oh. Yeah. Well sleep well!” Bonnibel suddenly said, laying on her back and scooting a little further away, suddenly feeling too close.
“You too. Hey did you read the handout at all? Apparently we have group therapy tomorrow at 11 in the morning. Hope you’re excited,” Marceline said with a groan. Bonnibel laughed nervously and with as much enthusiasm as possible said, “Yeah, super excited!”
Marceline laughed and rolled over onto her other side, hugging what was either her pillow or Hambo, and immediately drifted off, leaving Bonnibel to be the only one awake in the dim light the lamp offered. Peeking over at Marcy’s backside, she couldn’t help but already regret this.
