Bonnibel ended up falling asleep against her that night, and Marceline was surprised by the genuine concern for her that the Princess seemed to feel. Usually, just from all the many years Marceline has known her, Bonnibel tended to lead with her mind rather than her feelings, thinking everything could be solved with a little rationalization, to her own detriment at times, and often to the irritation of Marceline. Like when they kissed earlier that day.

The thought of Bonnie, pressed against her, mouth warm and pink, not exhibiting the usual control she had over herself and actually giving in to the moment, kept Marceline from being unable to sleep. Not that she would've anyways, since she hardly needs it, but still. One moment the Princess was asking for them to basically make out and the next she becomes cold and starts pushing her away - it was like whiplash. She wanted to be angry at the sleeping woman against her, for making her feel so rejected and confused, but she was afraid what the confrontation could lead to. She didn't want to push her even further away.

To her, PB wasn't just a pretty face, although she definitely did have a pretty face. Especially when it was scrunched up in thought, or when she laughed at one of Marceline's jokes, or just straight up laughed at her. There were many scrapped songs she had written about the way Bonnibel's laugh or teasing grin made her feel. Or those mischievous pink eyes. Glob, where was she going with this?

They had known each other for hundreds of years, and even when she had dated others, had some feelings for both men and women alike, it always felt so different around Bonnibel. Lately, it's gotten so much worse. Now that they had started rekindling their friendship and were spending this much time together, it was like how she felt when they first met all those years ago. She couldn't seem to keep the Princess out of her mind, and it frustrated her to no end that so many of her actions were influenced by her feelings. She almost wished she could have the level of control over her feelings as Bonnibel seems to have.

Or had, until she basically cried into her shoulder. She felt so bad, and she had no idea what to say, so she hugged Bonnibel and hoped for the best. It seemed to work in calming her down, at the very least. It had been two hours since then, and Marceline still hadn't stopped holding her.

Bonnibel had warned her that she was getting sleepy, and might end up falling asleep against her if she didn't move, but Marceline shrugged and figured they both had a pretty intense day, so this was probably good for both of them. Not long after, Bonnibel was snoring softly and had curled into her, her pink hair pulled out if its braid and now smooth, long, and everywhere. Marceline pretended it didn't make her undead heartbeat that much faster.

The next morning, after being lulled to sleep by some sudden middle of the night rain, despite thinking she originally wouldn't be able to, Marceline woke up and tried to stretch, yawning largely and loudly, wincing at her bad morning breath. Ugh, she hated when her mouth tasted like anything other than red. She would have to take care of that, if she could move, that was.

Bonnibel had somehow ended up sleeping on her stomach, both arms wrapped around her like how Marceline held Hambo, which was to say, tightly. She felt the urge to get up quickly drain away, even if her mouth tasted like a wet foot, but one look at the clock told her didn't really have a choice to stay in bed and lay the day away. Much to her chagrin, it was time for their scheduled group therapy session. She would've ignored it and kept on sleeping, but Bonnibel would definitely not be happy about that, knowing how uptight she could be about schedules.
