The first day of his official shinobi career, sadly, started today. He lined up, his parents by his side, waiting to be directed towards his new class.
"Okay Nara family, you're up." Shikamaru drowned the voices of his parents as they filled out the his information.
"It's nice to meet you Shikamaru. I'm Iruka and I'll be your sensei." The boy looked up to see a smiling man with a scar over his nose with hair in a similar style as his. He bowed respectively and waited in the line outside his class, getting a clear view of how the teacher acted.
"He seems nice and looks reliable. Hopefully he doesn't care if I sleep."
"Uzuma-really him."
Shikamaru furrowed his eyebrows at the reaction. Looking at the table he saw the same blond he's seen before.
"Uzumaki Naruto."
"Hai! Reporting for duty sensei!" Iruka sighed with a dark look in his eyes.
"Fill this and go join the line."
"W-Wait I have a questio-"
"Just fill out what you can." The harsh tone made the boy shut up and look down at the sheets of paper in his hand. He turned and went to a nearby table with a pen at hand.
"So the Hokage really let him join?"
"I don't feel safe with that demon near my child."
"Hopefully the clan heads ask the Hokage to take him out. It seems he got stuck in the class with all of them."
"That's right. Hopefully they'll solve our problem and expel the demon."
Shikamaru could only look at the adults in disgust. He knew his father wouldn't do something like that but he grew worried about the others. Did the other clans feel the same about the blond?
This was troublesome.
"Ah! Shikamaru stay in line!" The Nara didn't listen as he walked towards the table where the blond was currently scratching his head.
"Do you need some help?" The blond looked up with a pout on his face. His eyes widened in realization.
"Ah! You're the guy that helped me out...ummm Ishiki, uhh shiki...no- Shikamaru!" Shikamaru rolled his eyes as he sat on the bench, one leg on each side, and his chin sat on his palm.
"Yeah...I'm surprised you remember me." The blond grinned and made a familiar hand sign.
"How could I forget? You did that cool justu! Your dad was with you too! Is he here now?" Shikamaru shook his head as the blond laughed.
"My parents always nag me so I asked then to just drop me off. They can get really annoying with their persistence." Naruto's smile faded at the Nara's response. Shikamaru mererly looked at him, confusion in his eyes at the weird reaction.
"O-Oh. That's too bad." Shaking his head he put on another smile.
"Are you going to be in the same class as me?" Shikamaru nodded before looking at Iruka who was glaring at the blond and urging him to come back.
What should he do? On one hand he didn't want to leave the blond alone but on the other he didn't want to be on the teacher's bad side.
"It's okay. You can go wait in line or else Iruka-sensei will be mad." He snapped his head back to the blond who was continuing to fill his papers. He looked at the papers he had finished and noticed, from what he could see from the covered paper, that the information was missing.
