"But Shika! You promised I would choose the color!"
"And I should've known better."
The two fiancés were currently looking to build their own house in the Nara compound. Since the compound sat near the Hokage Tower it would be the perfect place to raise a small(Shikamaru)/large(Naruto) family as well as give them time to spend time during their off times. Naruto also managed to convince Shikamaru to stay in the compound because for one, he would be marrying into the Nara family so it would only be right, and two, he didn't want Shikamaru to be so far away from his parents. He loved his, somewhat new because he's always thought of them as his, mother in law and father in law, and he would never force Shikamaru to be apart from them. Even if Shikamaru did want to get away from his overbearing mother. His words not Naruto's!
The only problem was that they couldn't get a clear idea of the house. Yamato was on his wits end.
"Okay how about this, we make the house the same as every other house in the compound but you can decorate the insides. No orange in our room though!" Naruto put a hand under his chin in thought. Sighing he decided.
"Hm, okay! I'm fine with that!" Yamato thought he was going to pass out from all this waiting around. It didn't help that it was one if the hottest days and he was sweating under the green vest.
"Okay, Yamato-sensei! Do your magic!"
"Mokuton: Shichūka no Jutsu!"
The ground rumbled slightly as the roots came up from the ground, twisting and turning into a more house like structure. It looked like an old style japanese house, Yamato leaving the middle that surrounds the house empty except for a small creek so Naruto could put the garden he wanted to. The white house with a greenish roof was two stories, a large living room, spacious dinning room, and kitchen being the most extravagant part. There were 5 rooms overall. The master bedroom and 2 rooms on the second floor while 2 smaller rooms that could be made into guest rooms or study rooms on the first floor. There were 2 and a half bathrooms, both full bathrooms being on the second floor while a toilet room was on the first.
"Ah, wow! It looks so good! Thank you Yamato-taichou! How much will it be?" Yamato shook his hand, giving Naruto a smile.
"It's free. Think of it as an early wedding gift."
"Really?" Both males asked, trying to push the money towards the brown haired shinobi. He pushed it back, his eyebrow twitching slightly.
"Yes. Also as a thanks for saving my life Naruto."
"Ah, no worries Yamato-taichou. It was my fault to begin with! I should've kept my guard up." Both laughed while Shikamaru rolled his eyes.
"Okay, I'm heading out on a mission tonight and it's already close to my team meet up time. I'll see you guys later, oh-" Yamato gave a small smirk which made both Shikamaru and Naruti blush with realization.
"The walls are totally sound proof so don't be afraid."
"Y-Yamato-taichou!" Naruto covered his face as Shikamaru coughed into his hand.
"L-Let's just go in. He said the houses came with the furniture, right?"
"Shika!"
"N-No that's not what I implied! Naru! W-Wait I didn't mean that!"
