The heavy piece of metal was in my grasp behind my back, a sigh escaped my lips as I noticed that they were too engrossed in questioning the man to notice me, yet.I had to get out of here and fast. I quickly made a beeline for the exit with the pistol still in my grip. My hand grasped onto the cold handle of the sliding door, pushing it open.
A gush of air greeted me as I looked up to see the parking lot. My head didn't stop frantically jerking fro and back until I spotted the black Honda in the far back. Just get in the car and leave I thought.
Don't make it any more complicated than it needs to be I kept repeating to my right hand, that was dangerously close to the trigger. With the pistol still sheathed behind my back, I made a run for it while pulling my hat further down on my head.
Abruptly my breath escaped in a wheeze as I felt my back get crushed against the cemented wall. I gasped for air while shoving my head up. Furious blue eyes stared back at me. I took a double take as I took in his features making sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.
"Jules?" I breathed. Staring at his olive complexion with his familiar sharp jaw adorned with plump lips that were now set in a scowl. I eyed his long platinum blonde hair that he always had pushed back, Indeed it was Jules.
A feeling of anger bubbled through my veins causing me to roughly push at his chest. A look of shock rendered across his face as I pulled my gun out on him, perfectly aimed at his chest.
I willed my own hand to not shake as I glared into his eyes. "Val, what are you doing?" panic laced his voice as he slowly put his hands up to show submission.
"This-" I emphasized bringing the gun closer to his body "-Is how it's going to be from now on"
"Val, what the hell?" he seethed, though it didn't match his face as his eyes bulged not taking his eyes off of the gun.
"Don't fricking Val me" I rasped. "Did you honestly think I wouldn't realize that you're the one that gave away my location?"
"What are you- wait no, Val It wasn't me! I swear" Bullshit my conscience chimed in as I clicked the safety off of the gun.
He looked taken aback before his face hardened as he tried to lunge for the weapon, I quickly maneuvered out of his grasp while kicking at the back of his legs making him stumble forwards.
Grabbing his arm I pulled it back to keep him on the ground. I leaned down towards his ear. "Don't try dumb shit like that, you know I'm better trained than you" I rasped.
I felt his muscles clench up from the close proximity, his breath continuing to come out in short, quick huffs. I glanced over at his body hunched on the ground with my gun pressed firmly to his back.
I wouldn't actually kill him, would I? What If he was telling the truth? For now, either way, he could end up being useful I thought thinking of the long journey ahead of me.
At the thought of the road, I quickly glanced back around the corner to make sure no one was around while spotting the black Honda further from me now.
"Get up," I said as I nudged him with my leg. He shuffled forward not actually making a move to be on his feet again. I stared at him annoyed. "Are you fricking deaf? I said get on your damn feet, now" I spat
"Mind letting go of my damn arm first?" he seethed. In turn, I let go letting him up off the ground.
"Keep moving towards the parking lot," I said as I kept the gun pressed to his back. He grunted in what I guessed was frustration. Yeah, I had to admit I was a bitch and a pain in the ass. Right now though he just had to deal with it, he was no way in any position to make demands.
