Cece & I were sitting in the coffee shop drinking our chai tea lattes & gossiping. The usual.
"So, are you gonna ask Trevor out?" Cece asked.
I didn't know the answer to her question. Trevor was hot & sitting right over there with all his jock "friends" but 1) he barely knows me & 2) I barely know him! he could be a total jerk like the rest of them & I'm not looking for that right now.
"I don't know Cece, I don't like him that much." I say
I frown appears on her face. She's upset because "I'm a major loser who's too afraid to ask a guy out" according to her.
"ASK HIM OUT OR I WILL TELL EVERYONE YOUR SECRET" Cece demanded.
"You know what Cece? I don't need your crap. I'm leaving." I stated.
I grabbed my latte and jacket &
stormed out the door. which was maybe not the best decision. Because the next thing I know, I bump into a guy & spill my latte all over him. I expected him to yell at me because all the normal guys around here would do that. But I didn't know this guy and the strangest thing happened. he started to laugh.
"Im so sorry!!! By the way, may I ask what's so funny?" I tell him.
"It's nothing you will understand just having some bad luck today." he stated.
"Oh okay then. hey do you want to go on a walk with me? I don't want to feel alone right now. my names Jen by the way." I asked him.
"My names Josh. & sure I will go on a walk with you." he said
We started to head down Honeyburch lane. The crisp autumn air was surrounding us.
"So I'm really sorry about the latte incident. Can I make up for it by buying you a coffee at the shop tomorrow?" I asked.
"Sure that would be great. what grade are you in?" josh asked.
"Just got in grade 11. You?" I exclaim.
"Grade 11 too." he said.
There was this really awkward silence hanging in the air for a while. it needed to stop.
"So what sports do you do?" I ask him.
"Well I wouldn't call drawing a sport." He said with a chuckle.
He was the artsy type. He had brown shaggy hair and gorgeous brown eyes. he was dreamy, but I'm not THAT kind of girl. the kind that only looks for the looks & not the personality at all. That's definitely not me. But Josh was everything I was looking for, the looks, the smile & the way his eyes glow while he smiles, & the fun personality.
"Well here's my house. it was really nice to meet you. meet me tomorrow at the Coffee shop at 3?" I asked.
"Ya that's fine. See you tomorrow, Jen." he said.
I watched him head off into the cold crisp autumn afternoon until I got to cold & had to head inside.
