Before I knew it, the first half of the school day was over. So far, the school work wasn't the problem. It was finding someone to sit with at lunch was the problem.
You see, everyday I went out for lunch with Cece to this restaurant called "Mario's" and that's it. Cece was basically my only friend. I started to panic. Who was I gonna go eat with? I am definitely NOT eating cafeteria food.
"Hello Jen, can you please take Amelia out for lunch? She's new and she has no friends yet." the principal said to me.
I turned around so I could face the principal. Yesssss problem solved.
"Yes Principal Toth. I will take Amelia out for lunch." I said.
"Actually we were hoping you would stay on school grounds for today. We were hoping you guys could eat lunch here and then maybe you could show Amelia around." Principal Toth asked.
"Sure! Come Amelia, lets go to the cafeteria." I said.
Amelia and I went off to the cafeteria with at awkward silence at first. Why would Principal Toth choose me to show Amelia around? Does he know that Cece and I had a fight?
"So.... what grade are you in Jen?" Amelia nervously asked.
"I'm in grade 11. How about you?" I asked back.
"I'm in grade 10." she nervously answered.
She was really nervous and I could feel it. Going to a new school is really nerve wracking because you have to make a new group of friends. Obviously, when I came here I chose Cece. The wrong choice.
"That's the gymnasium. The cafeteria is right beside it." I said.
A few moments later we arrived at the cafeteria. It was huge, with a large glass wall. The wall on the other side is made out of brick & has are school mascot on it.
"So, when we first walk in Amelia, immediately to our left is the lunch line. We have a set menu. & straight in front of us is all the lunch tables. You can sit in the back with me.
"Uhhhh okay." Amelia said looking around.
We got into line for food. Today was Meatloaf Monday the absolute worst.
We lined up for our food, & the lady slopped the gross fake meat substitute in my face.
"Ewwww! This is so gross!" Amelia said once we were out of line.
We went to the back of the cafeteria, with no problem, because everybody was eating out. & that was sadly not me.
"So.... Amelia have you made any new friends yet? Everybody is so nice here."
That is the biggest lie I've ever told.
"Um no not really..... everybody kind of ignores me." Amelia said with a shrug & look of embarassment.
Wow, people can be so rude!!
"I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm sure you will make friends! You are such a nice person!" I said.
She blushed & whispered "Thank you".
"Hey Jen, what's up?" somebody said. I turned around to see Trevor & Cece. Holding Hands.
"Ooh, I can see you went from hanging out with me to this low life loser." Cece said with a laugh. Trevor laughed with her. Amelia looked embarassed.
"Cece I have 3 easy steps for you to a good life! 1. Leave immediately & never come back. 2. Go build a bridge. 3. GET OVER IT! Obviously, you are the one that lost something because since you've left, I've been extremely happy. & Amelia is nice compared to a snobby bitch like you Cece. Bye!" I said.
Cece was in shock. Trevor was smiling, when Cece saw she said "stop it!". They both left in silence.
"Woah Jen! You rocked that! Bravo!" Amelia said.
"Thanks." I said.
"C'mon we have to go. I need to show you around the school." I said.
We got up & left.~Authors Note~
