A Date

It was 3:15 & & I still haven't left my house yet. Being "fashionably late" wasn't something that was very fashionable to me.

I head out the door starting to head down Honeyburch lane. The date was November 3rd & it felt like December already. I was wearing a green army coat, black leggings & black combat boots.

I started to pick up my pace because I didn't want Josh to think I ditched him.

Walking faster maybe was not the best idea, because I tripped over my shoelace & fell down & the concrete. My legging tore at the knee and my knee was bleeding.

I got up & kept walking because the coffee shop was right infront of me.

I walked in & the aroma of coffee & pumpkin filled my nose. Josh was sitting in the back reading a newspaper.

"Hey Josh" I say.

"Hey Jen.... Oh My Gosh what happened?" Josh asked.

"Well.. it's a long story. Can you pass me a napkin please?" I ask.

He passed me the napkin so I could stop the bleeding.

"Thanks. So how come I haven't seen you before?" I asked Josh.

"Well, I just moved in from Vancouver. I was really sad but extremely happy too, so I could ditch my bitchy girlfriend." Josh told me.

I was a little turned off by that comment about his "bitchy girlfriend".

"Well she was really mean. She forced me to do everything with her no matter if I liked it or not. & if I didn't do something with her she would threaten me." Josh exclaims.

His girlfriend sounds like Cece.

About Cece, she was my best friend & all but she was a MAJOR bitch. She thought everybody loved her when we all despise her. She thought she was all that & a bag of chips. She always wondered why everybody had earplugs or earphones in the same time she was talking to them. I know why. If you knew how many times I have tried to dump Cece, you would give me credit.

"So Jen, what do you do in your free time." Josh asked me.

I didn't know what to say. I'm not that extremely jocky girl who plays every sport. But I did do something.

"Um.. I'm in a marching band." I said nervously.

I didn't want him to think I was a major geek because I'm not. I was afraid of him running away because I actually really liked him.

"Wow, that's really cool. what instrument do you do?" Josh asked.

"Oh, I play the bells. it's kind of like a vertical piano. Plus it's extremely heavy." I told him.

Whenever it comes to my instrument I always explain it because most people don't know what it is. But in the end, I always end up babbling on & on like a idiot.

"Cool......" Josh said.

I feel like he is bored. He probably has better things to do then sit in a coffee shop with me.

"Look I'm so sorry about today. It may look like I'm bored but I'm not. I want to hear more about you. So I'm going to take you to the cliffs." Josh told me.

The cliffs. I live in Newfoundland so the cliffs are everywhere. They have really nice scenery.

"How are do you look bored? I barely noticed." I lied

"Well last night my ex kept calling me trying to get back together. She said we could be a 'long distance relationship'. I told her to piss off because I never liked her in the first place." he stated.

Wow, this chick really does not want to give up.

"I have one question. Its really important and may effect our future and you might not want to be friends anymore but-" Josh told me

Does he want to ask me out? does he-

"-Do you want more coffee?" Josh asked.

"Hahaha no thanks. Holy you got me worried there for a minute!" I told him.

As he went to get more coffee, I just watched him. Wow he is perfect. He has got the looks, humour, and the smarts.

Mom 3:49 pm

*where are you? you need to come home so you can get ready for dinner. We are going to the Mandarin!*

Right I forgot, I have to go to the Mandarin for my grandpas birthday.

So I started to head up to Josh waiting for his coffee.

"Where are you going?" Josh asked curiously.

"I forgot, I have to go to the Mandarin tonight for my grandpas birthday. Sorry. What day and time do you want me to meet you at the cliffs?" I asked.

"Umm, Friday at 6 pm. Its okay that you have to go bye Jen." Josh exclaimed.

"Bye Josh! See you later." I replied.

I zipped up my jacket and started to head down Honeyburch lane.

Hi guys! Here's your long chapter! just some things about this chapter, I made them live in Canada because I live in Canada but not in Newfoundland. I've always wanted to go there so I thought it would be fun for them to live there. and I am in a marching band and I do play the bells in real life. plus if you do not know what the Mandarin is, its a all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant here. I hope that answers all your questions.
