Luke

her voice; the voice that i fell so deeply in love with.
her smile; the one that fit so perfectly on her face and lights up any room she walks in.
her laugh; the sound that was music to my ears.
her eyes; the windows into her soul that always told you how she was really feeling.
her scent; the smell that forever lingers on my old hoodies and t-shirts.
her presence; just knowing she's there was beyond calming.

i could go on and on about the girl sitting in front of me. she was my everything.
i never stopped loving her.
i had been waiting to hear her voice, needing to hear her voice for almost a year now. the feeling of nostalgia and pictures of past memories flood my brain and overcome my body. it's a good feeling.

the small party that had formed in ashton's house was slowly dying down by now. they all migrated to the backyard and gathered around a bonfire that somebody had started. the music was now being played from a small bluetooth speaker that sat with everyone outside instead of from the large speakers inside.

after our discussion, messing around on instagram, and downing 4 more shots with natalia, we found ourselves sitting on ashton's leather couches, away from the large group. from the way the night has played out so far i was convinced we were on good terms.

"How many songs on the new album did you relate back to me when writing them?" she asked quietly.

i looked over at her and before i had the chance of saying anything i was cut off. "Oh my god, that came out really narcissistic. Shit" she said frantically trying to fix her question.

i laughed to myself, "It's fine Nat" i paused, "Um, quite a few of the songs we wrote, I was personally relating back to our relationship. With every song on the album the guys and I all found ways to relate it back to our lives and our own personal experiences." i explained

she met my eyes with hers and gave me a small smile before emitting a laugh, "At least you got one good thing from our relationship." i furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. she broke eye contact, looked down at her feet and sighed, "Another number 1 album."

i was shocked by what she said. i didn't know what to say so i said nothing at all. we just sat in silence until it was broken by the sound of a phone ringing. my phone ringing. i reached out and picked it up off the coffee table in front of me and looked down at the screen to see who was calling. i rolled my eyes and answered, "Hello?" i tried to hide my annoyance.

"Babyyyy where are you?" the voice was high pitched and whiny

"I'm at Ashton's. Do you need something?" i rolled my eyes again and glanced over at natalia who had a confused drawn on her face.

"You're at Ashton's?" she sounded confused

"Yeah, I am."

"Oh" i could tell by the way she said it she was frowning, "Well why wasn't I invited?"

"I don't know" i sighed, " Why did you call?"

"Well I had a rough day today and I wanted to see if you wanted to come over and, you know, help me forget about it" she giggled. by now i could hear that she was slurring her words. she was drunk.

i sighed and rolled my eyes again, "Not tonight"

"Why not?"
