as i opened my eyes, my pupils were met with the bright, harsh morning light. i immediately screwed my eyes shut, for the light made my head feel tight.
i rolled over, and pulled the covers over my head. i was instantly engulfed by a familiar scent. i stayed cozied up in the blankets for a few minutes until the realization hit me; i was not in my own bed.
i wasn't shocked. i'm very accustomed to waking up in new places, but i normally wake up to the smell of bleached linen and the diffused floral scent that comes with staying in a hotel room. the scent that radiated off of the duvet i was wrapped up in was very familiar, it brought back a feeling of nostalgia.
eventually i forced myself to tug the blanket off only to find out i was no longer wearing my plaid trousers and black turtleneck t-shirt from the night before. instead i was wearing a long acid washed, cream colored rolling stones t-shirt that was basically a dress on me. it looked pretty familiar.
i looked around the room and took in my surroundings. my brain put two and two together and i felt my stomach drop. i was in luke's room, sitting in luke's bed, wearing his t-shirt. my thoughts were all over the place.
how did i end up here? why am i not wearing my own clothes? what happened last night?
my rapid thoughts were brought to a halt by the distant sound of humming. my curiosity got the better of me and i got up out of the bed. my feet were met by the cold wooden floors and the cool air of the room brought goosebumps to my skin. i found myself missing the warmth of the bed.
my head still felt tight as i walked out of the bedroom. i followed the sound of humming and the smell of bacon that was introduced to me once i exited the bedroom. the humming became louder and the smell of food became more intense as i walked through the house. my feet brought me to the kitchen and my eyes landed on the tall figure that was standing in front of the stove. he was humming the tune of his band's song disconnected while he cracked some eggs into the pan that sat in front of him. his back was facing me and i let my eyes trail down his body. he was shirtless and i could see that he still hasn't gotten any tattoos to occupy his toned back or muscular arms. he had a hand towel hung over his shoulder. he was wearing black sweat shorts that hung low on his hips and exposed the elastic band of his supreme boxer briefs, and his hair was a curly mess that was pulled back into a bun.
this was the first time i had a chance to really look at him and take in his appearance. as i stood starring at him, i couldn't help but bite my bottom lip. he looked good, really good. i was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of a deep chuckle. i quickly looked up to see luke smirking at me.
"Like what you see?" he asked with another low chuckle. i felt the heat rise to my cheeks as i thought of a response, "Um-I don't-uhh" i cleared my throat, "Um what am I doing here?" i asked quietly.
he laughed, "Good morning to you too"
"Oh sorry" i looked down at my hands, "Good morning" i looked back up and sent him a shy smile. he smiled back at me. i took a step into the kitchen, "You didn't answer my question" i stated.
"And you didn't answer mine" he smirked and turned around to flip the food in the pan. my eyebrows knit together in confusion, he didn't ask me a question. i thought to myself. after a little more thinking my eyes got wide as realization washed over me. "Like what you see?" played in my head. not wanting to admit i did in-fact like what i saw, i gave him a smartass response, "Yeah, the food looks delicious." i laughed.
he quickly turned around with a look of shock painted on his face. his features softened as he looked at me; his eyes raking down my body. another smirk found its way back to his mouth and he chuckled to himself, "Well, I sure do like what I see."
