Time past until finally Samira startled awake. The first thing that caught her attention was the sun not shinning. Raising her gaze, she gasped when thick dark clouds hang in the sky and thunder clasped alongside.
"Eros, wake up." She shook him and he groaned. Thunder clasped once again, louder this time and then a gust of wind blew over them.
"It's about to rain!" She said in alarm and almost immediately, water droplets fell from the sky.
Eros bolted up and together, they gathered the things and got into the jeep. He started the engine and sped away from there. As they moved, the rain increased and within minutes, they were drenched in the storm. Eros had taken out the doors and cover of the jeep because it had been warm and sunny when they left, but now he wished he hadn't done that.
Both of them were trembling from the cold and they were nowhere close to town, not to talk about the ranch. At this state, he decided to take them to his cabin, which wasn't too far from their current location.
After fifteen minutes in the storm, he pulled up in front of the cabin. "Hurry inside." He told Samira and then brought out the food basket, with the wet blankets and rushed onto the patio.
Eros squeezed out the water in the blankets before stepping inside with the basket. He spread the wet blankets on the dining table and brought the basket into the kitchen.
Samira found a switch and tried to turn on the lights but nothing happened. The lights might have gone out. She thought with a shiver.
"Samira, come here." Eros called from the fireplace and she went to him. He was trying to start a fire and she could not wait for it because she was cold to the bones.
Soon enough, there was a spark and then a fire started. Sighing, she sat on the floor and waited for the heat to warm her up.
"Let me go get more wood from the storage." He pecked her cheek and went into the kitchen.
Eros was horrified when he found out that there was no wood left. He came back out and broke the news to Samira who gasped. "So what do we do when the fire goes off?"
"I don't know." He said with honesty. "Let me get some clothes for us to change."
Samira changed into the shirt and shorts he gave her and then stepped out of the bathroom. He changed into a grey shirt and black slacks and she thought he looked sexy. The food was on the dining table and he was sitting in a chair.
"Come, I'm sure you're also starving." He said while pulling a chair out for her. She sat next to him and then he kissed her cheek. "You're cold." He pointed out.
"Very."
Eros brought her to his laps and wrapped his arms around her. "How do you feel now?" He asked.
"Better." She replied. He served the food that Nana made for them and they ate. It was delicious like all of Nana's other foods.
By the time, they finished doing the dishes, the fire was dangerously low and the room was getting cold once again. It did not look like the rain would stop anytime soon. Samira was terrified at the thought that they would freeze to death.
Eros brought the bed close to the fireplace and they laid on it. He threw in all the clothes he could find into the fire, but that did not help much. Samira was shaking violently and her skin was very cold. He was worried about her and blamed himself for it. If he hadn't brought her this far out of town, they wouldn't have been in this situation. But he had only wanted to show her the hills, which he loved so much.
"Samira, I'm sorry." He apologized while holding her closer to him. The little light in the fireplace cast a huge shadow of them on the floor.
"Come on... it's not... your fault." She said between gasps.
