TWELVE – 12
It all happened so fast. She was crying and then suddenly, falling with eyes glazing over. His heart thudded almost instantly and he was thankful that he had been holding her. Falling to his knees, he held the back of her neck with one hand and supported her back with his other hand.
"Samira!" Eros called in a shaky whisper, as tears dropped from his own eyes. "Samira, my love." He gazed at her face and her eyes were sealed shut. He caught sight of her weak pulse in her throat. Tears still flowed out from the corners of her eyes and he blamed himself for her situation.
Getting off the ground, he quickly carried her towards the front door where he found a valet. "Get me my car." Eros ordered and the valet rushed to bring it as he saw that it was an emergency.
The guard, who had refused Samira passage earlier, saw Eros carrying her unconscious figure and came up to him questioning.
"Is she alright? Should I call an ambulance?"
"Don't worry. I am taking her to a hospital." He replied.
"Samira?" A gasp came from the door and then Tamera rushed to them. At the sight of her unconscious sister, she yelled. "What did you do to her?"
"It wasn't me. She just fainted."
A black Macerate pulled up in front of them and the valet rushed out, holding the door for him. "I will drive. Get into the back."
Tamera quickly sat behind the wheel and the valet helped Eros get into the backseat. He held Samira against him and pressed her head into the crook of his neck. Her breath was warm and came out in small gasps. Silent tears slipped out of hers and his eyes and he kissed her head.
"Please hang in there, Samira." He whispered and felt her move.
Looking down in his arms, he saw her eyes flutter open. No words could describe the warm feeling that swept over him when he gazed into her dreamy eyes. Slowly, he descended his lips upon hers in a quick kiss and then brushed the hairs, which covered her forehead.
Samira's head was heavy and she asked herself if this were a dream. Was her love really with her? More tears flowed from the corners of her eyes as she stared at his handsome face. Raising her hand, she touched his cheek to confirm this was not a dream.
Eros folded his hand around hers on his cheek and spoke. "Please stay with me."
Samira wheeled the car into the compound of a hospital and nurses rushed out with a bed. They quickly got out of the car and Eros placed Samira on top, while they pushed the bed into the hospital.
Two more nurses and a doctor approached them. They carried Samira away while, Tamera and Eros waited in the hallway. As soon as the door closed, Tamera turned and ran a hard slap across Eros' worried face.
"You scoundrel!" She spat. "How could you hurt the girl who loves you with all her heart? Samira has never opened herself up to any man and the first one she opened up to crashed her little heart into a million pieces. Do you know how miserable she has been this past month?"
"She did not eat or sleep well and drowned herself in work so as not to think about you! Although she tried to hide it, her eyes showed how much she is hurting. She has cried herself to sleep every night for a month now and look at you..."
She drew in a deep breath and then continued. "... You do not look miserable at all. Of course, why would you be? Your wife and child are keeping you in shape." Tamera pushed at his chest and added angrily. "Get out of here!"
Before Eros could start to explain himself, Tamera's phone buzzed in her purse and she pulled it out. After swiping the screen, she spoke in a calm tone. "Hello mother, how is the party going?"
