The dream is always the same.

I'm at the beach with Jaime. He has a knife in his hand, and he's sharpening it with a rock.

I'm sitting in the sand, my legs pulled up to my chest as my nerves shake within me.

"Here." Jaime is holding out the knife for me. I shake my head at him. I don't need it.

He can read my mind, because he reinforced the knife. "You will need it. You have to trust me, Shelly."

I sigh, and take the knife, tucking it through one of the straps on my wet suit.

He turns around, picking up a spear he made from stone off of the sand.

I continued to sit, still shaken up by being chased by Mandrills. My breathing calms down, I finally caught my breath.

"We can't turn back, Shelly. Only way forward is the ocean." He tells me, understanding my pain.

We tried to make this trip yesterday, but the storm was too dangerous, I begged him to turn back, and we did, only to be chased out by Mandrills.

He holds out his hand for me. I accepted it, letting him help pull me up.

I almost lost balance, my leg still not recovered from being bitten by one of the Mandrills.

He throws an arm around my shoulder for support. I grab my board from the ground, feeling strong enough to be on my own.

He doesn't let go though, fearing I might fall.

"I'm okay." I tell him, even though i'm sure i'm not.

He doubts me.

He gives me a look as if he got an idea. He reaches for his bag, retrieving a jar of blue liquid. He hands it to me, but I just stare at it. I don't remember him collecting that.

"Crone gave it me. She said we would need it."

That made me angry. She was the one who made the waves impossible to ride and casted the Mandrills onto us, I didn't trust her one bit.

"You trust her? After what she'd done!" I spat, slapping the jar away from me.

"I didn't, but she was right. She said we would need this later. She said this potion could help you, give you the strength and courage you need to carry on." I wasn't buying anything. He stepped closer to me, still holding out the jar. "If we have any chance at making it to the Wells you have to drink this Schenell."

"Okay."

My leg woke me up from the dream, it's pain overbearing.

I look around the room, trying to make out the area in the darkness. I see my bag on the dresser across from my bed.

I carefully swing my legs to the side, strapping myself into my CAM boot as I began to slowly limp over.

I dig my hands inside, trying to feel for the pill bottles. I pull out one, and its nearly empty, only about 6 capsules being left.

I could've sworn I had atleast 30 left in this one.

I try to think if I had been taking more than my dosage. The doctor said two a day, but sometimes when the pain was really horrible i'd pop a third. Even then, I should have had at least 30 left, since a full bottle contained around 45 pills.

I try not to think on it too hard, taking one pill from the bottle and swallowing it with no water.

I retrieve my Marlboro's and glow lighter, quickly leaving my room, and sneaking through the living room of the motel room.
