After our conversation where... Canyon confessed his undeniable love for me.We got ice cream! Just kidding ;) not going to happen. He's like an annoying brother to me. Anyway after he told me I could trust him we watched Thor ironically and I feel like he might like Thor more than his little sister likes Thor because he started going all fangirl about him.
He knew a bunch of weird stuff about Thor it amazed me.
"Wow you sure know a lot about Thor... I just knew he had a hammer that's only worthy for him and no one else. That's pretty much all I knew."
"Yeah. I got obsessed with him 'cause he was the only one real to me. The research was fun and better than my problems." Canyon said matter of factly.
He said it as if it was common.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here? Babysitter making peace with my baby boy?!?!"
"Hey mom."
"Dear Lord!!!! What happened to your face!?!? It's bruised badly. I'm getting ice."
"Mom chill. I put ice already. I fell on an oddly large rock."
"Rock? Really? In school? You know what. I don't care I'm tired. But this so called rock better not hit you again or else."
"MOM!! Chill."
"I'm chill. I'm always chill. I'm chiller than chill. Wait what's chill again?" Ms. Candle questioned.
And with this I bursted in laughter. This parent went along and didn't even know what chill was. It reminded me of my mother when she asked me what wyd was. Let's just say that, that event was hilarious as much as this one.
"Oh honey. I forgot you were here. I'll take you home. Canyon, don't forget to tell me who this chill is when I come back." Ms. Candle had said quite sternly as if chill was a mean person.
Gawd these people were funny and oblivious.
"Bye, Canyon!"
"Bye, Stan!"
Both, Canyon and I, cringed because both of us used our nicknames we weren't fond of.
The drive home was nice and calm until it became uncomfortable when Ms. Candle started talking about Canyon.
"My son is single, you know. And ever since I could remember he was a lot of trouble but then you come in and he's home watching a movie! He wouldn't even sit on the couch. I'm just amazed that your doing your job better than any nanny and babysitter I've ever had. And again I'm just commenting he's single." Ms. Candle just kept rambling on.
Okay I get it. He's single. I don't care. Obviously I'm not going to tell her that, one she's my boss and two she's a mom. I can't disrespect a mom.
So I listened to stories and stories about Canyon. At the end though when we got outside my house she started crying.
"Oh Ms. uh it's alright don't cry..." I impulsively told her.
I tried to pat her back gently but it didn't really workout. I just looked like I was trying not to get infected by a germ she had or something. Yikes I'm bad at this.
"It's all my fault he's like he is!!! Gah."
*cry sounds*"Calm down. Sh sh sh."
I'm terrible at helping people when they are in an emotional state."He lost her! And I wasn't watching them! I I was the blame for her death! Then he blames himself since he was a child and he's so cold to everyone now."
What?!?! Death! Who what why???
My whole head started spinning. I didn't know what to do my breathing was shortening little by little. I knew then if this lady did not stop or I didn't calm down I'd pass out.
Thank the heavens Dr. Smith came into the picture. He knocked one of the windows, but I didn't know which one because I couldn't breathe. I was whizzing so hard.
I couldn't take it. I didn't care if Ms. Candle saw that I had asthma so I took out my inhaler from my backpack and used it.
Although, I think she was having it rougher because it seemed she had a break down and was gone by the time I took out my inhaler. Dr. Smith some how got her out of the car and in the house.
Once I recovered my breathing attack I joined them.
By the way Dr. Smith also studied Psychology and has good peoples skills.
He would know how to approach this not like me where I just panicked. Now to find out who the bananas died.
I entered my home but before anything before finding out who died, I went to mamma. She wasn't dead. She was dying but not dead. Thankfully.
"Hey momma, how you been? It was a good day for me. Although I did get an asthma attack but I'm fine now."
She didn't move, it seemed she was sound asleep. Except when I commented about my asthma attack, it looked as if she winced but it wasn't that noticeable so I thought maybe she was having a bad dream.
"Alright mom. I'll leave. Goodnight." I whispered to her.
I kissed her forehead and left to investigate who Ms. Candle was talking about.
"Hey, Dr.Sm-"
"Sh" Dr. Smith rapidly demanded.
Wow. It must be serious if he told me to be quite.
I sat at the opposite side of the table from them and just listened."I'm so sorry. I just can't hold it anymore... My husband wants to get a divorce again. He's saying that maybe our family needs to split. Then I remind him of Camoran. How once we were going to separate but she was the reason why we didn't... and ugh argh" Ms. Candle was explaining but towards the end you couldn't even understand what she was saying because she was crying more than anything.
It was really sad to witness. I even started to shed tears and I don't even know why. Was I feeling sympathy? Who knows, but my tears wouldn't stop coming out.
"Hey look at me. Breathe. In. Out. In. Out. Now drink this tea." Dr. Smith told Ms.Candle.
He also gave me tea because he saw I was also anxious because of this whole situation.
It was silent for a couple of minutes since Ms. Candle was calming down. She looked really tired and broken but like usual I have no idea how to help. Then I see something that I wish I hadn't. She had markings on her wrists. I could barely make them out from under her long sleeves. Oh dear, this just keeps getting worse.
"Um, Dr. Smith may I speak to you. In private." I asked casually.
Even though I'm sure it didn't sound casual at all.
*Bump Clash*
"Hold that thought, Stanley. I think your mom needs help." He quickly responded and left like the flash.
Oh great I'm alone with Ms. Candle. This isn't comfortable at all.
*Snores loudly*
Is she sleeping? She is sleeping. What did Dr. Smith put in her tea? Wait the real question is did he put it in my drink?Dun Dun Dun
A/N: Hey so I wasn't going to post again until Tuesday but I thought. "I'm trying to finish this book so I should just post another chapter."
Now there's a new chapter. Depending on my laziness there might be another one tomorrow but probably I'm going to post on Tuesday. Again depending if I'm lazy or not and depending if I have ideas to continue.
Hope you enjoy! To the couple that read this...
