Opinion: 

I searched for a sad anime because I feel like crying and all.. So the first thing that caught my attention was CLANNAD. I checked the story, genres, and even their comments regarding this anime if it's really sad, And yeah.. most of the commentators said It really is.. So, I decided to watch it.

As I watched the first season, my first impression was boring... I was expecting for the sad scenes and all but I didn't get that. maybe... I had set my expectations too high that's why I got disappointed. And another thing is the animation style,  Why is it that the girls' faces looked like that?  I mean everyone's got eyes half the size of their face. I admit they are cute but they exagerrated it too much, makes me feel some type of way. I endured waching it because I might get used to it in a while.. hopefully..

My impression after watching the first season? I first thought that it focuses on the love story of Tomoya and Nagisa because it was a Romance but it wasn't. It has different stories, stories of the characters and the only thing that made me sad in the first season is Ichinose's story.. the comedy is not that bad.. it's all because of Youhei hahaha.  Overall, Season 1 lets you see the characters personality, their development, the relationship between them or how they treat one another in a comedic way as an every day school encounter. In simpler way of saying season 1 is pure comedy with a pinch of drama.

Next is the second season (Clannad After Story) .. So here.. I didn't have high expectations because I might get disappointed again if that's the case.. Also, I had a feeling that maybe.. it has the sad parts and yes, I was right.

Every sad scenes touched my heart and it really felt sad I cried so much. It's not pure sadness at all, there's also a little bit of happiness in it and I think it was really an amazing Anime. It erased all those negative impressions that i once thought. 

 I know.. some people are disappointed with the ending, I was disappointed too the first time I watched this thinking " Woah. they made me cry for no reason?"  "Please give my tears back!"

Because of curiosity, I searched for an explanation and yes.. the ending..  it's very well thought out. I realized the story has an amazing plot the only flaw of this anime is that it didn't give us the explanation it's up to us to interpret the story.

Still, I recommend this if you want to laugh and cry your heart out..
