Chapter 4- The Sorting

Year 1

"Bloody hell Malfoy, what do you think you are doing?"

"What do you want Wealsey, she's much better with me anyways"

"what do you mean? You dare come near her again or else"

I woke up due to two people yelling. I got up and my eyes finally came to focus, Ron was glaring at me from the compartment door.

"Hey what happend?" I said almost yawning

Ron gave me a last angry glare and left to the front of the train.

"Nothing don't worry about it, anyways we have reached Hogwarts and we should leave now" Draco said.

"Okay, but where is Nikki?" I asked

"She said she'll wait for us outside" Draco replied

The train was empty, we were the last to leave. I thought I was going to be really Excited but I feel really nervous now.

"Why are you so pale?" Draco asked

"umm..I'm just nervous, it's actually happening, we're going to Hogwarts." I replied

"It's fine, I'm nervous too." He said and held my hand

I held his hand back, it was warm actually. We left the train into the cold night air and I felt draco shiver beside me. There was a huge man with a beard holding a lamp, shouting "Firs'-years! Firs'-years over here!" And there were already students behind him. Me and Draco walked towards them and I quickly spotted Nikki.

"Hey Nikki! Over here!" I said and quickly left Draco's hand before she notices.

"Oh, thought I lost you guys" she said.

We followed the huge man down a steep, narrow path. While slipping and stumbling, trying to keep up with the lot, I thought I saw Ron glaring at us but then a narrow path opened suddenly on to the edge of a great black lake..and there was a vast castle with many turrets and towers..it was Hogwarts.

"No more'n four to a boat!" The huge man said, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore.

Draco climbed into one of the boats and helped me and Nikki in. A grey haired boy followed us in too.

"Everyone in?" Shouted the huge man "Right then — FORWARD!" And the fleet of boats moved all at once.

"Hi, I'm Augustus Waters" the grey-haired boy said stareing at Nikki

"Um..hey" Nikki replied not impressed.

We finally reached Hogwarts and the door swung open at once . A tall, black-haired witch in emerald-green robes stood there.

We followed her across the flagged stone floor that hundreds of voices from a doorway to the right could be heard in. "The whole school must be here" Nikki mumbled to me.

We followed her into a small empty chamber of the hall. We crowded in, standing rather closer than usual.

"Welcome to Hogwarts" said professor McGonagall. She explained to us about the sorting and left the chamber. No one was talking much except Hermione Granger.

"Now form a line" professor McGonagall has returned

We followed her across the hall and through a pair of of double doors into the Great Hall. Everything was so amazing..and Magical! Professor McGonagall placed a four legged stool infront of us and on top she placed a pointed wizard's hat. There was complete silence then the hat twitched and started singing a song about the four houses.
