"We have a dinner to attend for you to meet new people" aunty Olivia said.

"Dinner?" my dad asked her and she nodded.

"We got in contact with the last person from our trio back in school and she told us that she had a dinner party and she wanted us to be there" my mom explained.

"Name?" uncle Johann said like it was a command. Aunty Olivia rolled at her eyes at him and then.

"Ciara Hills" my mom answered and both men nodded. I looked over to Claudia and Joseph they were in hushed whispers obviously thinking that the parents were talking trash and Jacob was just picking on his food. That was weird.

I nudged his side and he jerks his eyes facing me "Are you okay?" I whisper to him and he shook his head. "What?" I ask him seeing that our parents have gone back to talking about how they were on the days.

"I told you Janine is back and you walked out on me" he said in an annoyed and duh tone.

"Did you want me to congratulate you because your ex girlfriend is back?" I ask feeling slightly disgusted by her already when I haven't even seen her fake face.

"I needed a favour" he said and I looked at him.

"What was it?" I ask. "Why didn't you say?" I ask him immediately.

"You stormed out of the room" he says and I already feel bad.

"I'm sorry. Let's storm out of here" I suggest and he nods. He must really be in need of the favour.

"Thank you Uncle Ricky and aunty Maggie" Jacob said catching the attention of the adults "We have something to catch up on so we are going first" he said and my parents nodded at us.

We pushed ourselves off the table and left to my room. When we got to the room. I switched on the light and dim room walls greeted me with a maroon bed cover. It looked fine as if someone was cleaning it and waiting patiently for me to come back and occupy the bed. But I'm never coming back here. It holds memories u rather forget.

I sat down on the bed feeling the silk and the bed dipped. Jacob opted for the sofa.

"So you need a favour?" I asked him when I saw his eyes dart around the room.

"Yeah" he said befitting clearing his throat long enough. "It's about Janine"

"I think I already figured that out" I said and he looked at me frowning.

"I seriously don't appreciate your forwardness this night" he said and I raised my hands in mock surrender. "I need you to date me" he said bluntly and my mouth flew open. My eyebrows rose to meet my hair line my eyes as wide open as saucers.

"What...what....are...you saying" I manage to put the words together.

"Eli calm down" he said and I willed my self to breathe. "It's for Janine to see that I'm not open so she will stop pestering my life" he said and I shook my head violently. I think my brain had turned around in place.

"Janine hates me" I state and he nods.

"But you have to help me" he states too. "We made a promise to to do whatever we can to help each other" he said standing up to come towards the bed. "And I need your help" he said holding my hands in his.

"So what do I have to do" I say knowing that I made a promise to him. He was my bestfriend I have to help him.

"We date for sometime and we break up saying it couldn't work between us" he said and I nodded trying to process all he was getting at.

"And how does this guarantee that she wouldn't come for you?" I ask him.

"She will come" he said stressed.

"So what is this for?" I ask trying to decode why we are doing this.

"For us to just keep her away. She was away for three months but I received a call and message and pictures containing her nudity from her every single day" he said groaning in annoyance.

"You know there is something called blocking" I said and he looked at me weirdly.

"And you think I didn't try that?" he asked and I shrugged. "I blocked and she just used a new number each time and sometimes a private number" he said and I feel so sorry for him.

"I warned you" I said and he frowned at me. "I told you not to date her at that time" I say and he just nods.

"I wished I listened to you" he said with a sad expression.

"I will only help out because I will need something soon bit aside from that I'm supposed to allow you suffer for your actions" I say and he frowns. I stick out my tongue and he laughs.

"You haven't done that since...." he started but I cut him off.

"So what are we going to tell our parents" I ask him secretly begging him that I never want to talk about what he wanted to just say.

"Trust me I got that covered" he said.

"Please tell me what you will say" I beg and he smirks. He seems in a better mood than before since he can smirk now.

"That we are dating" he said and my mouth opened and closed repeatedly like fish gasping for water or whatever it gasps for. "They won't find it weird. They have been waiting for us to get together. So we fulfill our parents wishes and you help me" he said and I nodded.

"And Claudia will say she was right" I say and he laughs a little I can see he is all better now. Claudia and Joseph always made sure to tell us both that we 'were in love"

"We have to act in love" he said.

"That can't be too hard" I said. "We are best friends after all" I said and he nods at me.

"Thanks babe" he said kissing my cheek and winking at me.

"Anytime" I said smiling at him.
