Kyle Scheible

was sitting out of New Helvetia book in hand. He did liked the coffee at The Artist way better than this joint, but he couldn't bring himself to go if he saw her. Kyle continued to read his book and smoke wishing someone would stop him.

"Hey! I like your band with Jonah Ruiz, L'enface New?", a girl around his age stepped out with a apron. "L'enface Nue", Kyle corrected her, he really wished they made their name something more simple but, who was he to say.

"I saw your Thanksgiving show. My name's Lady Bird", she gave him her hand to shake. There was something between them Ladybird thought but Kyle felt nothing. "It's weird you shake hands", he wanted to get out of the situation and dropped his hand.

"Yeah, yeah I'm friends with Jenna and Jo. Jenna's always talking about how great your band is so I wanted to check it out", Lady told her half lie. "Jenna's hella tight. Well maybe I'll see you at the Deuce", Kyle really wanted to escape after hearing her name.

"Sure, see you at the Deuce", she stared at him. "I'm not paying you to flirt!", her boss yelled at Ladybird. "I wasn't flirting", she brushed it off. "I wish you had been", Kyle lied through his teeth. And then he's gone.

What am I doing? I don't have a kink for coffee now do I? But, it didn't feel the same maybe Ladybird can be a distraction.

"The first time we did it was at his lake house last summer. It was so funny", Jenna started to tell her story. "Jenna I heard this a thousand times", Jo groaned "Well dear Josie you're gonna hear it for the thousandths and one time. It won't kill you", she teased.

"From Uncle Matt. I think he and my Mom are fighting, so enjot these lunches while you can", Julie handed both of the girl's brown bags. Jo said her thank yous while Ladybird rejected hers. Jo was too busy looking through the lunch bag and eating a little to keep up with the conversation.

Sister Sarah-John enters the room to make her daily rounds, "Ladies- skirts?". Everyone's skirt but Jenna's doesn't make the grade, she hemmed hers. Jo tried to push her skirt down just to realize it would come out if she did so she stopped.

"I'm going yo write you a citation, Miss Walton. No more short skirts!", Sister Sarah-Joan left the room. "Sarah-Joan is all up in my jock", Jenna titled her head back. "She's a cunt", the words leaving Ladybird's mouth shock Jo. "Birdy you like her", Julie didn't like the sudden change of her friend.

"Yeah, but, she's a cunt. I have an idea of how to get Sarah-Joan back...", Jo didn't like where Lady was going either. "How?", Jenna was interested. "You'll see. This afternoon?" "No, we have auditions this afternoon", Julie stepped in.

"I don't think I want to do the play", now Jo definitly did not like this new Lady. "Julie about the play I'm starting to work again so I'm sorry I can't go", Jo gave her attention to the other. "It's fine at least you have an actual reason", Julie silently hissed at their other best friend.

"Ladybird don't do anything that you would regret in the future m'kay", Jo told her friend before class started.

Jo wandered through a palatial house looking for Jenna. It was after her shift at The Artist so she was still casually dressed in jeans and a band shirt. Jenna had been begging her for days to come with her "You have looked so down lately a party will do you some good" her voice ran through her head.

Finally she found herself at the kitchen while Jenna was sitting on the counter with Jonah. Both of them flush red meaning they were probably making out a few minutes before. "Oh my god Josie, you finally made it", Jenna made her way to hug her.

"Of course anything for you", she hugged Jenna back. "Well help yourself to anything. My parents are upstairs as usual and yeah", Jonah pulled Jenna closer causing her to giggle. "I'll catch both of you later", Jo grabbed a water and decided to wander around.

The Walton's house was very beautiful pieces of art everywhere and the structure was a beauty. But, it was ruined with the amount of horny, party teens around. Jo found herself staring at copy painting of a Women with A Parasol by . It was a lovely painting but held so much emotion and colours.

"Hazel boy hey", Jo found him exiting a room wiping his mouth with his arm. "Lucy", Kyle took a look around. "How have you been?", she asked. "You sure you want to talk to me don't want you're boyfriend punching me. I still need to be a good yards away", he gave her a cold shoulder.

"Boyfriend what do you mean?", Jo didn't like this cold act either. "Officer MacMillian, you know your boyfriend", Kyle stated bluntly. "Oh you're funny, you really don't know", she started laughing at his confused face. "I am Josephine Lucy MacMillian-", "OH MY GOD YOU'RE HIS WIFE", Kyle started leaning against the wall for support. "Ew No, Let me finish. I am Josephine Lucy MacMillian, Finlay MacMillian is my brother", relief went through his face. "So you don't have a boyfriend", Kyle relaxed. "Nope single pringle since birth", Jo sighed a little.

"I'm sorry, can you give me another chance?", Kyle was going to take a few steps closer to her when someone tugged on his shirt. "Kyle where are you going?", Ladybird peeked out the door still blushing from their make-out. "Oh hey Lady. I think I will get going know see you guys later", Jo didn't need anyone to explain what was happening. Josephine exit the house and ran which ever direction not caring where she was going, but she brought herself back home. She finally stopped on the stairs of their condo and sat down. Jo could still smell the cigarettes and old books on him. Her chest felt like it was being torn out of her chest and constantly being stabbed.

Ladybird must have had a thing for Kyle and Kyle for Ladybird. I should have seen it coming.

As long as Christine is happy. As long as Kyle is happy. I am happy. Right? Then what is this feeling in my chest.

"Luce not again", Fin had parked the car and rushed over to her. "What happened", he brought his already crying sister to meet his eye. "Lady- b-ird. Kyle-e. Fin mak-e it-t s-stop hu-urting", she cried on his shoulder. "You got to be kidding this loser. Again", Finlay rubbed her back wanting to heal Jo's broken heart.

Jo eventually stopped crying and fell asleep while he carried her inside. Fin didn't know how to deal with broken hearts, him being the boy making the broken hearts in high school. He hesitantly brought the phone to his ear, "Hello Julie, we have a problem. I know it's nine but, can you come over with ice cream it's Jo".
