the next song on the playlist traveled through the cafe, the soft indie pop melody fits the mood.

As you can see she hasn't met him yet
She already fell in love, I bet
Her keyboard gets slammed by her fingers
But he replies with "ok" every time, every time

She doesn't know who he is
No, she doesn't know what he's up to, oh
She doesn't know who he is

He doesn't see her
He sees right through her, oh

She doesn't know who he is
No, she doesn't know what he's up to, oh
Her heart gets broken every time, every time

She doesn't know who he is
No, she doesn't know what he's up to, oh

She doesn't know who he is
She doesn't know who she is

A personal favorite of Jo in her work uniform as she passed time.

The boy over the counter had wore the uniform of the neighboring all boy christian school next to hers. It was fit on him on all the right places. The tired looking boy seemed lean, fragile in every way but gave calming vibes. Those hazel eyes giving another story as he let the song soak in for the few minutes.

"Hi welcome to The Artist, what can I get you", Jo let her work instincts take back. The boy looked at the chalk menu hanging around the counter before his eyebrows scrunched together.

"Do you have anything that is not bad for the environment?", the hazel boy asked in all seriousness. Jo however couldn't tell if it was a joke or not. The processing of coffee beans does ruin the environment. In fact everything that's human or human made ruins the environment.

"Babe, this is a coffee shop. Everything here is bad for the environment", Jo said boldly which also surprised her. "Well I mean, everything ruins the environment and all. Like the simple pollution and stuff. The government lies about how much we are hurting the earth though. But, I guess one cup of black coffee wouldn't hurt", she went and rambled on.

"I guess a cup of black erm Lucy", hazel boy breathed in her name on the tag. "That will be a dolla and ten please. And your name", Jo gave the receipt back to the boy. "I think I'll rather keep my name then give it to a semi-stranger. It doesn't look like you will have anyone soon so, I'll be over there", hazel boy was honestly interested of the girl who thinks the government lies too and pointed to one of the seats inside the cafe next to the bookshelves. "Well I guess challenge accepted", Jo nodded then went to prepare his cup.

"A cup of Jo for the hazel kid", the girl placed the cup of coffee on the table where he was sitting. His nose was stuck on a book. The Little Prince.

"Thank you, why don't you sit down", hazel kid invited her. "If you're reading Little Prince you should do The Alchemist next", Jo pointed out as she crossed her legs under the table.

"You know books and culture, most girls are more"- hazel kid was probably going to use some profanities. "Uncultured Swines", but Jo intervene. "Yes, exactly. And thank you for the coffee", he took a sip of the drink that mixed together with the summer heat.

"You're strange drinking hot coffee in the summer mid-day you aren't a very sane person are you?", Jo observed him. "Well you can say that. I'm Kyle and you're Lucy?", Kyle held out his hand.

"It's Josephine actually. Jo more exact", both of them felt a little buzz when they shook hands. "Shaking hands are kinda of weird by the way", Jo put her hand on her lap again. "Now I think of it, shaking hands kinda is now. A little old fashion I suppose", Kyle scratched the back of his neck.

"Well I might be need to get going now. You should reccomend me a book after I finsh The Alchemist, Jo", Kyle had lifted the last page of The Little Prince and adjusted his uniform.

"Of course. Hey Hazel boy you go to the boys Catholic school next to the girls?", Jo caught him before he left. "Yeah why?", Kyle swiped away hair from his face to take a better look at her. "Then I guess I'll see you next mass. Have a nice day", she gathered his cup.

"Oh and Luce I think I like Hazel boy", he smiled before leaving the shop. What a strange boy.

"Josephine, you know I know your family for years. I took in your parents and brother for work and now you. It's your senior year dear, I want you to have fun, it's suppose to be the most memorable. I don't want your last high school year wasted on some old cafe", Peter went on after Jo's shift finished while she was cleaning the place.

"But, Peter I want to help. Plus the extra helps around the home for me and Fin", Jo choose to slightly ignore him. "That's the thing, I only want you to work on holidays. Every school day you should be studying and hanging out with friends. I will still pay you and there is no buts. Your family helped me through out the years. Now it's time for you to learn some fun", Peter forced the deal on her.

"Peter I don't know what to say", Jo was lost in words. "Just say yes. I saw you and the Hazel kid earlier too. You know if it wasn't for me your parents wouldn't met from your father was sp stubborn of not working.", Peter nudged the girl as she turned flushed. "Thank you Peter", she took him into a quick hug.

"Hey bro", Jo was chilling on the couch listening to the radio when Fin opened the front door of their condo. "Don't you have school tomorrow?", the older sibling yawned while crashing on top of her. "Yeah and I'll appreciate if I don't die first", Jo started clawing on him. "You bet even more reason for you to be sleeping", Fin got off her.

"I just needed to tell you Peter let me off for the school year", Jo hugged him. "He's doing that for you too. I need to thank him next time, he does so much for us.", Fin hugged her back.

"Yeah, yeah good night dear brother", she went on to her room and crashed on her bed.
