"Discard"
To get rid of (someone or something) as no longer useful or desirable.

The wait for the deviant felt like forever.

Y/n bit back a groan of boredom and yanked her phone out from her pocket. Since she had stormed past the aged man, Hank also had yet to show up, leading her to the conclusion that he was going to retrieve the deviant. Y/n rubbed the faint eyebags that stained the underside of her shiny e/c irises. Beside her, Connor's soft yet fierce gaze seemed to pierce right through her, and he rested his firm hand on her shoulder.

"...?"

Connor softly pulled Y/n face to face with him, and inspected her face like it were some kind of confusing artifact.
"Have you had a good night's rest, Y/n?" He asked in the same diplomatic tone he always did. His right eyebrow raised ever so slightly, and his eyes fluttered with some sort of artificial skepticism, like he was actually a real person. Even so, his expression was void of something that most human expressions had, but she couldn't quite place it. Despite this, Connor's soft, quiet concern made her feel calm and happy, that something as emotionless as a robot showed concern for her.

Not a worrying amount like Hank, but also not even caring at all. This was the kind of attention she liked. Y/n gave a soft grin.

"I'm just a bit tired, thank you for worrying Connor." She reassured the swoopy-haired Android. Connor nodded in reply, and straightened his posture as he resumed looking through the window of the interrogation room.
The wait was extra excruciating when Gavin and another police officer had walked into the room with them.

"Great, we have to share rooms with an android." Gavin complained as he caught sight of Connor, then plopped down on a chair and looked over into the transparent window. Both Connor and Y/n ignored the snide complaint of the gruffy man, and continued to look into the interrogation room.

It was then Y/n had noticed how unwelcoming it truly was, even though she always knew that interrogation rooms weren't meant to look like places where you can frolic in fields and look at rainbows.

There was no wallpaper, only the dark and dull color of the roughly cut cement walls. The floor was hard, cold pavement as well, like a basement or a crumbly excuse for a sidewalk. Evenly displayed in the middle was a plastic pull-up table, that seemed much more ominous than it should've been. A shiver went up Y/n's spine, and her breath hitched for a moment, but she refused to comment on the intimidating set-up.

"So who're we interrogating today? I wasn't paying much attention to the case." Gavin haughtily asked, sounding annoyed and unkind. The h/c haired girl was almost inclined to just ignore him, but she didn't.

"It's a homicide case, and we're supposed to be interrogating this deviant that supposedly murdered his owne—"

Y/n paused.

Usually the girl referred to androids as its, but when she recalled the words she had just uttered, it was for sure.

She had called the android a him. Not an it.

"Hm? Hey, finish the sentence will ya?" Gavin urged, sounding irritated. Y/n froze.
"S-Sorry. Anyways we're meant to be interrogating the deviant that supposedly murdered its owner." Y/n swiftly apologized, then explained. Gavin nodded dismissively, as if he didn't actually care, but to make it worse he snidely added,

"I don't get why we are, I mean it's pretty obvious it did it. Damn androids."

Y/n opened her mouth to argue with the ill-tempered cop, but just as she did, the door to the interrogation room slammed open, and the door hit the wall beside it with a deafening noise. Following the unpleasant sound that had met her ears, Hank filed into the interrogation room, followed by the android they had encountered from last night.

Y/n's PoV

I bit back a gag at the android's current state.

He was so sweaty that you could notice his blood sodden uniform clinging to his body. His skin was splattered with yet another sprinkle of blood, that had dried and was fading from a scarlet red color into a more dark and dull red. A troubled look crossed the androids face, making me almost feel bad for it. As firmly as Hank had walloped the door when he walked in, he also slammed the door shut with yet another irritatingly boisterous noise. The android flinched.

The old man then walked over and sat in front of the android, folding his hands together, and leaning inwards. He glanced over at the window, which looked like a mirror to the android, and nodded with some type of confirmation, then turned back to look at the android.

~💠~

"Is it finished?"

"Not yet, this is the biggest project we've ever had. Building an android with actual human emotion is basically impossible."

"Well hurry up! We can't keep the boss waiting too long or we'll get terminated!"

~💠~

"I've been having strange dreams for awhile..." I murmured, trying to shoo away the unsettling sounds of those unknown people's voices. Connor glanced over at me, and I quickly shook my head.

And just like that, it was time for the interrogation to begin.

~💠~

"Discard of it."

"No! Please! Stop! I'll be good! I promise! I won't ask anymore questions!"

"I knew it was a mistake to make you."

Once again, I flinched, shocked and unsettled by these strange flashes. My head felt spinny, and light-headed. Rubbing my forehead, I groggily leaned on the wall behind me. Gavin glanced in my direction.

"You've been awfully quiet, Miss Know-It-All. Too scared to watch an interrogation?" He snidely remarked, urging me to shoot a scowl at him. Beside me, in his usual factual tone, Connor spoke up.
"Her name is actually Y/n Anderson, but yes, I do detect feelings of discomfort from her."

"Do you need to go to the bathroom and perhaps wash your face, Ms. Y/n?" Connor asked. Quietly, I gave a small nod. Perhaps if I washed my face real quick I'd feel a little better.

"Yeah, sure whatever."

"Would you like me to acomp-"

"No."

What the heck are these strange dreams?
