We always hear about who killed who in homicides
And wonder why they did it in suicides.
Our tears fall as often as April shower
And we watch time pass by up on that clock tower.
Friends hurt friends with cruel words
And people hurt themselves with knife like swords.
Nights go by without any stars
And days come along with crashes in cars.
This world has wars and death and fears
But there is also a reason all of us are here.
We hear about the wonder of the birth of a child
And our love for others runs deep and wild.
We wish upon shooting stars
And we wonder of life on Mars.
We see great things in every young mind
And we have those moments we wish we could rewind.
Even in the dark of a plight,
We can still find a light.
So look around this dark cruel world
And see the gleam of happiness shining through like a sun ray of gold.
