Teresa's POV
Thomas led me to the med shack where Audrey was taking care of her friend. When we got there her friend was asleep.
"Hey, Audrey how is she?" Thomas asked.
"I don't know, she's not getting worse but she's not getting better either."
I came up to her friend.
"What's her name?"
"Hanna."
I knelt down beside her. I studied her arm where her veins were popping out.
"I'm going to need some of her blood. Has she woken up since you found her?"
"No."
I took some of her blood and studied it under a microscope.
"Well, she's definitely getting worse."
"How."
"Her brain is failing and her breathing is shortened. Her blood cells are also dying and bursting."
"So in English she's..."
"Are there any coconuts on this island?" I asked.
"Yeah why?"
"Coconuts water contains 5 key electrolytes, that's her problem."
"Ok, so she's not infected?"
"No she is, but she can't be cured until this is fixed."
"I'll go get a coconut." Thomas said.
"Do you have an iv bag?" I asked Audrey.
"We have the bag and stuff but not the fluids."
"Great, can you get it."
Thomas came back with the coconut.
"Now what?"
"I need you to make a hole in the side of the coconut, about an centimeter wide."
Audrey came back with the iv bag and Thomas created the hole.
"Audrey I need you to hold the bag open and Thomas I need you to hook up the tubing. The needle should already be connected so be careful.
"Okay, done now what."
"I need to get the coconut water into the bag."
We pored the water into the bag and sealed it shut. I placed the needle into the vein on her arm.
"Okay, that should do it." I said. "Come find me when she wakes up." I said to Audrey."
She nodded her head.
Thomas and I left the shack.
"Thank you Teresa." Thomas said.
"For what?"
"For saving her."
"Oh, you welcome. I just did what I thought was right."
Thomas looked down and I realized what I had said. (Scene in the Death Cure.)
"Oh god,I- that's ju- um, uh, sorry!
"It's fine it just- uh,"
"Brings back memories."
"To many."
We both looked at each other.
"Are you happy, that we are alive?"
"Of course I am but,"
"But there were more. A lot more."
"Yeah."
"You can't blame yourself for that Thomas."
"But it's my fault."
"Maybe it is. But we all knew that when we met you you were special, you were worth dying for. Some of us paid that price but none regretted it."
"Your here now."Thomas said.
"We are here now, but all of us have this darkness in us. And it's because deep down we know that everything has changed."
We stared at each other in silence for a moment. Then Thomas spoke up.
"18 seconds."
"What."
"18 seconds, that's how long you had to jump onto the berg with us. Why didn't you Teresa, why didn't you come with us. Why didn't you come with me."
"You and I both knew I was dead before that building even collapsed."
Neither of us said anything.
"We should get to sleep." Thomas said.
"Um, we were so busy with Hanna that we never really worked out my sleeping arrangement."
"Oh, you can just stay with me tonight."
"I don't want to be invading your space."
"No it's alright."
"Okay."
We went to Thomas's hut.
"Thomas, there's only one bed here."
"You can take the bed. I'll just sleep in the chair."
"You going to sleep in a chair all night?"
"I've done it multiple times."
"Why would you sleep in the chair when you have bed?"
"Okay I've never slept in the chair before but it's fine."
"No it's not fine. You take the bed I'll take the chair."
"You are not taking the chair."
"Why not. If you say it's because I'm a girl I will literally kill you."
"I wasn't going to. You know what, let's just both take the bed and face away from each other."
"Fine."
Thomas started walking towards the bed but I held him back.
"You might actually want to get ready for bed first." I said looking at his shoes.
"Right."
Thomas took off his shoes and I took off my boots and jacket. I also took off my eyeliner.
"Wow, you look ten times nicer without the eyeliner."
"Thank you."
"Your welcome."
"I was being sarcastic."
"Yeah, well I wasn't."
"I hate you."
"I also kind of had that coming."
I laughed at him then we both got in bed, facing away from each other like we planed. We were both silent until I spoke up.
"I kind of feel like we are a couple that hates each other."
"Agreed." Thomas said.
We both turned and faced each other. We stared at each other weirdly until Thomas broke in.
"Well this just feel awkward."
"Yeah."
We both turned and faced the ceiling but we also kept glancing at each other from the corner of our eyes.
"This isn't working either!" I said.
"Chair it is." Thomas said.
"Thomas wait."
He  laid back down and faced the ceiling .
"What."
"Can we be really good friends for the moment."
"Teresa, we already are."
"Great." I said.
I laid my head down on his chest. He seemed surprised at first but then he wrapped his arms around me.
"This is good." He said.
"Yeah, it is." I replied.
Then we finally fell asleep.
Hey guys. So I named this chapter "a lot happened" because I wrote a lot more than I usually do and I had no idea what to call this chapter so if you want you can come up with your own name.
