They Found Me (Avengers- Reader x Bucky)

New Friends

You all enter the building and head through to the Avengers personal living room. It was huge with a couple of sofas, chairs, tables, a bar and a pool table.

"Now we know what you can do lets make this meeting a bit less formal," Tony says heading over to the bar.

"What's your poison?"

"I'm okay thanks," you reply.

"Oh come on don't be like that what do you want?" he pushes.

Fine, you think to yourself one drink won't do any harm.

"I'll have a Russian standard vodka and orange juice."

"Ooo I wouldn't say that word too loud, frosty might get flashbacks," Tony jokes.

You look over at Bucky who didn't laugh but made his way behind the bar and poured his own drink.
You all sit on the 3 sofas around a large coffee table. You sit with Steve on one sofa, Bruce and Tony opposite you, Bucky and Natasha on the sofa to your right. You sip at your drink.
Bruce begins to question you.

"So how long have you been able to talk to animals?"

"12 years, if your gonna ask me why I can I have no idea."

"You say you can talk to Corax telepathically and verbally, can you do that with all animals?"

"Yes I could speak to other animals verbally and they would understand me."

"Do they have a hearing range?"

"Yeah like can he hear not to shit on my stuff from up there," Tony shouts towards Corax who is perched on one of the ceiling beams.

"He's not going to do that Tony he's not a wild animal," you reply and sip your drink.

"I might just do it on his head for even suggesting it," Corax chirped.

You look at Corax and laugh.

"Hey, hey, what did he just say??"
Tony looks suspiciously at Corax and switches sofas.

"Back to the question, yeah, I can only project my thoughts within close range."

"Can you - "

"Ugh stop with the 21 questions already Bruce," Natasha says to him playfully.
 
"Yeah let's leave it for tonight and celebrate the new member of the team," Tony looks in your direction.
You nearly choke on your drink.

"What?" you and Bucky say in unison.

You look at Tony confused.
"Well we currently have a position open for people to join the team who can communicate to animals," he smirks, "in other words we could use someone with your powers to join our team."

"Steve and I already discussed that if your enhancements were good enough we could use another person on the team," you notice Bucky giving Steve a disappointed look.

"Do you think that's a good idea Tony?" Bucky asks.

"Bucky's right I have no other power than talking to animals, no fighting skills and I've never fired a gun before."

"Well that's where you lot come into play'" he opens his arms towards the group.

"Steve are you up for strategy training?"

"Natasha how about fighting, show her that scissor leg thing you do?" he winks.

"I'd love to show a woman how to kick you boys into shape, it means I'd get a day off," she smiles and takes a sip of her drink.

"And the deadly assassin can show her guns?" he asks Bucky.

You've noticed at this point that Tony never calls Bucky by his name, he always has some nick name ready and waiting.
