Highes...
I wake up and stretch. The longest stretch that I've had in days. I finally open my eyes and see Alex hovering over my desk, writing something in my sticky notes, as my laptop is swung open and on the screen is my mom's house flashing right before my eyes.
I get up off my bed and walk over to Alex, as I wrap my arms around his waist and pull him closer to me, as I turn his head and kiss him. Then I back away from him and give him a smile.
"Damn, feisty aren't we?" He chuckles.
"What are you writing?" I look down at the sticky notes placed on the desk.
"I'm writing down the address for the house. Just in case."
"Isn't it to early?" He stares at me.
"It's 2:00 in the afternoon, that's early?" He chuckles and turns away from me.
"2:00? I swear if the time goes any faster, I'm going to start breaking all the clocks in this god damn house." I let go of Alex and walk over to my closet to pick out a random grey t-shirt, a black sweatshirt, and some black leggings. Before you judge, I know I wear depressing clothes, and that's the way I like it. I put my clothes on, and put on my random converse I just happened to find.
"It's not the clocks fault, Sienna."
"They tell time, Alex, and that's what pisses me off the most." He holds out his hands like he's getting caught and arrested.
"We should start heading out." I nod and agree. We both walk out of the room and tiptoe down the stairs, making sure my Aunt doesn't wake up to the sound of me and Alex.
As we make our way out of the walkway and onto the pavement, I just have to comment on Alex's clothing style.
"You know," I pause,"I've always liked the style you dress up in. It flaturs you." He looks at me and smirks.
"Oh? Thanks? Never seen this Sienna before."
"You will see her more often now." I smile at him.
For the rest of the way there, we stay silent. Hearing the cars pass by and the birds chirping in the trees. After 30 minutes or so we finally reached the house, and just the looks of it, gives me the creeps.
We both stand on the porch, waiting for one of us to ring the doorbell or knock twice on the door.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Alex says as he turns his head to look in my direction.
"I mean, my mom does live here, you did search it up after all, and that address is here." I look down at the sticky note, written on it, is my mom's address. I look up at the house and next to the door is a number filled with cob webs. I look at Alex then back at the door and I feel myself walk up to it, bringing up my fist, and knocking,"once, twice," on the door. My nerves tense up and I drop my hand to back up and stand beside Alex. We finally hear the lock turn and the door swings open. A young boy, the age of Alex, stands between the door frame. His eyes are light blue and his hair is styled as the same, not really, as Alex.
He stares at both of us and opens the door wider. I notice the inside has a bunch of papers scattered on a table as picture frames hang on a wall.
"I'm sorry to disturb," I start to say,"But I'm looking for Tori Greensburg? She's my mother." He stares at me then smirks.
"Daughter, huh?" I stare at him,"She's inside, come in." He gestures for us to come in and Alex steps in first as I notice him giving a death stare to the young boy. I stay close behind him as I hold onto his jacket and finally step inside. I see flower paintings all over the walls, and I avert my eyes and look to the kitchen with papers scattered all over the kitchen table.
"The names Jack by the way," I turn to face him and give a little smirk,"She's upstairs, I'll go get her." He walks past us and starts walking up the stairs, as I hear whispers. I notice a picture of my mom at the back wall at the living room, and stare at it.
Alex notices me staring and turns his head to also look at the picture.
"That's your mom, isn't it?" I stare at it and start to smirk.
"Yea..." I say,"She looks younger then ever."
I hear footsteps coming right behind me but in that moment, a handkerchief covers my mouth and nose. Alex turns around and gets hit with a baseball bat and falls to the floor in a loud thud.
I struggle to get out of the person's gasp, but in the moment my eyes fall heavy, and I'm already fainting into darkness in seconds...
At this very moment, my heart rate slows down, and I feel like I'm dying. Too slowly or too soon. Of course, as I heard a million times, life isn't forever, it has to end, one day or another. But like this, it can't happen, none of it can. In my last breath, I need to live life for the fullest and save the people who I put, in serious danger...
