Chapter 13

Bruno's POV

I sat down by Jessica, and looked into her eyes. Those beautiful eyes that I have always loved to look at.

"When do I get out of this place? I want to see how the world has changed out there." Jessica speaks.

"Soon hopefully. You can stay with me." I smile.

"No. She can stay with her brother." Nicholas says, as he enters the room.

He gave me a dirty look. What's up with him?

"I have no problem bringing her with me. It's fine." I spoke.

"She's my sister. She will stay with my fiancé and I." He strictly says.

"Fiancé?" Jessica pointed out.

"Yeah. I'm getting married. I can't wait for you to meet her. You're going to love her, she's great. Really an amazing girl and I knew from the start she was going to be the one for me." Nick smiles the whole time while telling her.

"I can't wait. What's her name?" She asked.

"Samantha Evans."

"Evans?" Jessica repeated.

"Yes. Sound familiar?" He smiled.

"The girl you thought had a disease in the 8th grade only because you had a huge crush on her?" She spoke.

"Yup."

They start to laugh. The doctor came in and explained a couple of things to us.

"Miss. Aguilar. You look a lot better from the first time I saw you today. Your blood looks fine and your back to having high fluids. Your ribs are going to heal on their own so take it easy. As well as the cut on you side is slowly going to heal sense we did fix that up for you. We had to stitch it close. Tomorrow we will check if you are able to be discharged, only if your wound looks okay." The doctor explained.

"Great. Thank you." Jessica smiled.

"Bruno, may I talk to you outside for a moment?" Nick asks.

"Yeah sure."

We walked out of the room, leaving Jessica alone.

"You better not be thinking you are going to hurt my sister's feelings." He says.

"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.

"Bruno, I know you have your girlfriend. Jessica doesn't know that. I know you guys kissed each other and everything before I got here. She told me everything. Now I'm promising you this Hernandez, hurt my sister, and you won't see the light of day." Nick said.

I looked at him in disbelief.

"What?"

"You know exactly what." He said in a harsh tone. "You are the main reason my sister is in this situation. If she didn't go out that night with you, she would have been perfectly fine. If you actually took care of her like you said you were, everything would have been PERFECT! My dad would have still been alive, Jessica would have had a successful job and everything. So like I said, you hurt her, and I will hurt you."

I stayed speechless. Nick walked back into the room, as I stayed standing there. Shortly I walked back in, combing my fingers through my curly hair. Jessica looked at me and smiled, and I couldn't help but smile back. Nick looked at me and rolled his eyes.

"Nick can you give Bruno and I a minute?" Jessica asked.

"Yeah."

As he walked out, he gave me a harsh mugging face. The door closed behind him as I walked up to Jessica with a smile. I sat on the seat by her as she slowly grabbed my hands, interlocking it with hers.
