~~~~Amy's Memory~~~~
Today was the most amazing day of my life....well at least it started out that way. It was graduation day at East High School. I was finally graduating after the three long hard grueling years. I have been on the honor roll every year. I was the top of my class, especially when it came to math and science. That's why I look up to Dr. Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. They are both brilliant and accomplished scientists. The whole Senior Class and teachers were sitting in the stadium near town square.
Parents were just barely starting to arrive. I saw my friend Lexi's mom and siblings show up. I waved to her. Then I just continued to look for my dad hoping he would come even though I know he probably won't cause I know I'm just a disappointment. It still didn't stop me from looking for him. The graduation ceremony started and my dad was still nowhere to be found, but it was ok. It's not like he showed up to anything else in my life. The only reason he showed up to my birth was because my mom was there and then she just wasn't.
The principle of my school Mrs. Adams was talking about how she had known us for the last 3 years and having seen us grow and how "amazed" she was at how we had grown. But I wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying. I was just hoping that my dad showed up to the second most important event in my life..........but I guess he didn't want so see me graduate. He always said he didn't like how I looked because I reminded him too much of mom and it pissed him off. He always says that he'd rather have a wife he could love and enjoy doing things with her, over having an ungrateful daughter who will never amount to anything and will never be good enough for anything. So he did everything he ever wanted to do to my mom and more to me. But it was ok cause I was the reason my mom was dead. Then the person next to me I think his name was Chase nudged me out of my thoughts.
"Hey, she just said your name." he said to me. I stood up and went up to the stage to accept my diploma. I got my diploma and shook the principles hand and then I went over to Mrs. Berrett the math teacher that taught me the last 3 years and hugged her and thanked her. Then just walked back to my chair not as happy as I thought I would be to graduate. Then I heard out class president, Allen, start to speak over the microphone.
"We have gone through this journey together. We have grown, we have broken, and we have strived together. We will continue on our own paths, but we will meet up and reconnect in 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30. I love you all and will see you at the party later tonight. GO WILDCATS!!!!" Allen encouraged then we all moved our tastes from the left to the right. Then we took off our caps and threw them in the air. The graduation ceremony was over I was officially an adult. I looked through the audience one last time. There was no one here for me. Just me and Lexi. I got out of my row and she rushed toward me squealing.
"WE'VE FINALLY GRADUATED!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE OFFICIALLY ADULTS!!" She exclaimed so excited I just smiled and nodded at her. "He didn't show did he?" she asked knowing instantly what was happening in my head. I shook my head at her with tears starting to prick my eyes. "NO! Honey, no crying today unless it's tears of joy this is our day to show that we have accomplished things." I just nodded and closed my eyes to will the tears to go back to where they came from. I smiled at her a half hearted smile, then she clasped my hand and we walked off hand in hand to see her mom. Once we reached her she congratulated us and we took a few photos. Then I left to my car to drive home and get changed for the party that started at 7 and went till 2 in the morning. I had 5 hours to get ready. Lexi wanted to do my hair so I would head over to her place at 5.
I finally reached home and it was already 3pm. So I walked into my house ever so quietly so that my dad wouldn't notice me. But he did. He was sitting on the couch watching TV. I'm pretty sure he was waiting for me to get home. He saw me instantly when I opened the door and I saw the beer bottles on the coffee table.
