Chapter 18: Rowna

Ah Thor is that you? An older woman dressed in extravagantly bright green inquired. She had a cloak on so I could not see her face. But I could see a lock of hair that had escaped the cloak's coverage.

Yes Mother Rowna. It is. Thor answers, might I say you look as radiating as ever. He quickly throws in then does a short little bow.

A teasing laugh escapes Mother Rownas lips. She shakes her head and more locks of her hair fall loose of their cover. I can't quite figure out what color her hair is, no matter how hard I stare. Im glad to hear that even after all these years Astrids teasing is still influences you. she admits with a smile that you can just hear in her voice.

What could you possibly mean Mother Rowna? I do not grasp the idea that you are imploring. Thor quizzically asks.

I mean as you usually dont address the healer moon elves as mother. You know she did that because she thought it would be funny every time you did. Astrid was such a character. she sadly teased. Anyways, why have you come to visit me today? When the day marking 19 years of my sweet daughter Astrid and the most inspirational Sylvia sacrifice and betrayal is tomorrow. she curiously asks.

I have reason to believe that our Astrid is out someplace in the 9 Realms. He answers, stepping aside so that Rowna can see me. I believe that she is protecting Lady Amy, Who is Sylvia reincarnated. She takes a step toward me to get a better look.

May I? She asks, reaching her hands out to touch me. I nod my agreement. She gently tugs my hair out of my face and to the sides as if to do a Viking like hair style. As soon as she has pulled my hair back she audibly gasps in shock, tugging me into a tight embrace.

I'm shocked for a moment not knowing what to do. Then I slowly wrapped my arms around her. She smelled so familiar and her embrace was so warm and loving. She's like the mother I never had.

We stood there for a couple of moments just holding each other when she pulled back her cloak fell off her head and I truly saw her. She had lushus long dark hair but when the light caught it. It showed a bright silver. She looked to Thor with tears in her eyes.

H-how did you find her? She asked him to bring her gaze back to me as if to make sure I was truly there.

I didnt the Midgard group called The Avengers did. I don't know much of the details but they found her. He admitted to Rowna. He looked over to me fondly. But Loki has been haunting her and we think that if we find Astrid we might be able to find out why. He continued. But Rowna never took her eyes off me. Her gaze was so loving and fond as if I was one of her daughters. I mean I kind of am. With the whole Lady Sylvia thing.

I am sorry my children. I do not know where my daughter is. I would think that she is in Helheim, with you but youre HERE. But my best inquiry would still be there. I am sorry I am not of much help. But I do wish you both much luck. May the gods be on your side, and please bring my daughter back to me. She gives me one more hug. And you my dear please come back to see me soon I would love just to have your company. Now Thor, She turned to Thor keeping one hand on my arm. You keep her safe. If anything happens to either of my darling girls, I will have your hammer and your head. She informed him with a sweet but slightly menacing smile on her face.

Thor audibly gulps and nods his head. I will Lady Rowna. I will protect them with my life. I look at him shocked about the object when Rowna pulls him into a quick tight embrace. Then shews us off back to Asgard.

I'm sorry my children I wish I had more time but if you stay any longer the other Moon elves will come for you so you must go now. Rowna said a little frantic as if she saw something in the bushes around her home.

We hurry off on her request. On our way out we spotted what she was talking about there where some elves hiding in the bushes with their bows and arrows drawn and ready to be shot. We rush out as fast as our legs could take us. But Thor had to go slower to keep time with my short legs.

Once we were clear of the village Thor called out to my supposed father Heimdall. I see the rainbow cylinder pick us up and essentially shoot us through the sky to our next destination.

Helheim, Ive read about it in my literature class for school. It is the domain of the goddess Hel and her pet/ guard wolf Garm or Garmr.
