As soon as we touched ground I could feel in my bones that I am not supposed to be here. It was so sad, cold, and uninviting. It made you want to turn tail and run. But I stood my ground I needed to find my mysterious protector. She was the key to who I am and who I could be. She would be the one who would truly be able to tell me if I deserve a TRULY loving father and true bffls ( best friends for life).
I spot Thor looking worriedly over at me. I reach for his hand and clasp it. I dont know what made me want to do that, to want to try and reassure him and myself. He looks a little startled at first but I saw recognition in his eyes. I guess Sylvia must have done this when they were younger.
After settling both of our nerves, I look around at our surroundings. Were about a mile from a looming gate. I could faintly see something walking back and forth in front of the gate. I think its Garmr but im not sure until I get closer. Theres nothing to either side of us. No literally nothing, theres a dirt path leading to the ominous gate. But there is nothing on either side of us just plains of nothingness. I take a deep calming breath, pushed out all the unwanted feelings and walked towards the sketchy gate with Thor in tow.
The closer we got to the gates the bigger and easier it was for me to tell if it was Garmr or not. And it was for damn sure Garmr and his big wolf body. He was as tall as Thor, and then some. He had a sharp vicious snarl on his face and was staring right at us. He was towering over us.
The living are not permitted here. Im startled by the booming voice in my mind.
We are only here to get our friend and bring her home. I have a credible source that says she is here, and we must find her. Thor answered the voice out loud. Im assuming the voice in my head is Garmr.
The living are not permitted here. Leave now, or I will make you feel welcome here. Garmr warned. I can feel the hair on my arms and neck stand up straight. I turn and whisper to Thor.
Hes not bluffing. But we need Astrid to figure all me and the shit with Loki out. We cant leave. No matter the consequence. He just solemnly nods.
Stay behind me no matter what happens. If I get hurt you need to run. Run as fast as you can, run up the path and call Heimdall. Weve already lost you once. We cant loose you again. Thor's voice broke a little on the last sentence as if it physically pains him to even think that Sylvia, that I could be lost to him again. Theres no room for me to argue with him so I just nod. Releasing his hand I stepped behind him, like he asked me to.
I see that you have decided to join us. Garmr said emphisising join. Thor puts his hand out with his fingers splayed out as if hes reaching for something with all of his strength.
Garmr jolts right at us mouth agape ready to bite the head off of Thor. But he wasnt fast enough. A hammer comes flying into Thors awaiting hand, and he swung it up connecting with Garmrs gaping jaw. Snapping it shut before he even had a change to lay a hair on Thor.
Garmr does a 180 degree flip onto his back with the brute force of Thors actions. But Garmr wasnt down for long. Hes back up on his paws within meer moments, as if getting flipped onto his back is an everyday occurrence. He lets a low growl out as he starts to circle us. But Thor follows him, keeping his body between us doing his best to keep me from the action. Garmr jumps over Thor and I, whipping around and swipes at me with his front paws. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, those are sharp. I stumble back into Thor. Narrowly avoiding a massive gash in my abdomen getting only a fairly minor scratch. Thor yanks me back into him as he jumps a couple of yards backwards putting some space between us and Garmr.
Amy are you alright?! Thor asks frantic while keeping an eye on our opponent. I peer down at the cut in my abdomen. Its bleeding steadily but nor gushing so Im gonna take that as a win.
