"Oh, crap!" I shout as I trip over a root. Everyone turns to look at me. I rub the back of my neck. "Sorry.. I wasn't watching where I was going."
"It's fine," Adam replies in a sassy chick voice. "Happens to the best of us." I giggle. We all start laughing.
"Well," I start in a deep voice. "Thanks for the laugh fair lady, but I must be going. My escorts are ensuring that we get to our destination before night fall. Shall we?"
"We shall." Adam responds. We link arms and continue following Jess and Ross to their house.
"So, if you don't mind me asking.. how old are you?" I ask the group.
"Well, Ross and I are fourteen." Jess states. I nod.
"I am fifteen." I state.
"Me too." Max inquires.
"Same here!" Red yells.
"Wow, I feel old. I am sixteen." Adam states.
"Yeah, I ams sixteens as wells." Barney states.
"H-hey, g-guys, we are h-here." Ross stutters out shyly. I giggle and hug him. Ross stiffens.
"It's okay, Ross, I won't hurt you. And for some reason, I believe no one here will either." I mumble into Ross's ear. He relaxes and hugs back. I release him and look up. In front of us stands a small broken down shack. I walk up to the door. I slightly push it open. Inside, a small kitchen and two mattresses lay inside.
"I hope you don't mind sleeping in the dirt." Jess asks loudly. I smile.
"Not at all." I hum. Everyone agrees. We enjoy ourselves for the rest of the night, slowly letting sleep overcome our tortured souls.
