India is a democracy, world's largest in fact!
But what if, India wasn't a democracy?
What if in 2018, there was a military coup?
What if India's dictator brought a law stating that
"Any and every offence shall and will be a death sentence"...

The day was 19th of August and the year 2038, still the vibes of anti-patriotism and the spirit of anti-nationalism was in the air.
People wanted to protest against their dictator Dharam Pandit, but couldn't because when Dharam Pandit became the dictator the first change he brought (in 2018) was, to pass a law called Rule to Live(RTL). It allowed the state to kill anyone for any violation of law at any level. This law was criticized for being unethical but it has eradicated almost all the corruption and crime.
Besides RTL the major national changes were the abolishment of the state and local government (substitutes for the state and local government were the sub ordinates of the dictator) and all political parties being banned and the only two leaders who would be running the country were Dharam Pandit, the leader of the country and his friend and partner in crime Tahir Ali was the leader of military forces.
Before passing RTL, Dharam proposed its idea to Tahir and Tahir even without listening the whole thing left his position then and there in front of Dharam and with a sigh said, "You've changed". Dharam tried to stop Tahir but he didn't stop. So Dharam went to Tahir's hometown and it was his hometown too, to tell him the whole plan about RTL.
"Mona, open the door" Tahir shouted while knocking the door, "how much time will you take". Mona screamed from inside "Go away! I didn't expect that from you"
Tahir said, "Oh, come on!" Mona screams "Let me finish first" she clears her throat and says, "I didn't expect that you would partner with Dharam to do a military coup"
Tahir, still outside cried "Nikhil". Nikhil opened the door, and told Tahir that Mona was in the kitchen. As he walked away Tahir rushed inside the kitchen and saw his sister crying. Tahir sat beside her and asked her while putting his hand on her shoulder, "What happened Mona, I know this much about you that you'll be the last person to care about politics" he laughed.
"How would you know about my interests" she hugs him "Where were you bhaiya, why didn't you come back for so many years? Is military more important to you than your sister and nephew"
"No!" Tahir exclaimed while crying. Nikhil was standing near the archway of the kitchen with Dharam beside him said, "If your reunion is over Dharam uncle is here". Dharam's eyes were filled with tears seeing the sibling unite.
It reminded him of what he lost. As Dharam sighed, Nikhil asked him why he was so sentimental about it. Dharam while clearing his eyes said, "It has been a while" he hugged him, "How are you?"
Nikhil smiled while kicking him softly "I'm the same", then with a serious tone, "But you've changed. You became India's dictator". "And I see you became a big boy, what are you 13?" "I'm not joking, I wish you and Tahir mama hadn't done what you have. Why did you do it!" Nikhil shouts, "Why?"
Dharam calmed him down and said, "When time comes, I'll tell you" Nikhil said, "I wish the time comes before you die" Dharam laughs. Mona welcomed Dharam with a hug and tears in her eyes. She said to Dharam, "Now I can brag about my best friend being India's Dictator" Tahir said, "He's my best friend". Dharam while smiling said, "You both are my best friends" he turns to Nikhil, "And you too Nikhil".
Mona, Dharam and Tahir had a relationship of friends which was more like that of siblings. Their friendship was like the bright shining moon in a star-less dark night. Mona was the loud leader of the trio. Tahir always wore a face which was pleading – get me out of here. Dharam was just there seeing Mona tease Tahir and cook new plans day after day to pull a on prank Tahir.
Dharam liked Mona's confidence – some elder kids were bullying the then timid Dharam and Mona came running in to save him and that is how they met. Then seeing Mona's courage Dharam started following Mona for letting him join Mona and Tahir and to became courageous like them. They all got along with each other because they could empathise with each other. They had the same relations with their parents that is they had no relation. They played together in all the free time they got from school and their orphanages.
After an hour or less, they all sat down to have lunch. At the table, Nikhil was still mad at Tahir and Dharam. Mona was too busy to notice it because she was telling about how she had to run away to marry Nikhil's father, as the society was pestering them because they were not of the same religion. (Indian society didn't change in matters of secularism – inter caste marriage and thinking their religion is above others) Tahir, Nikhil, Dharam heard Mona's daring story for a thousandth time so Tahir tried to shun the story by questioning Mona about the whereabouts of his brother-in-law, Mona while laughing said, "You should know about it more than me" Nikhil giggled as well and said, "Yeah, Papa's after you - not us".
They all enjoyed the meal and after the lunch Dharam asks Tahir to come to his house. Tahir with a hopeless - hope said, "I wish you call that house – home someday" but Dharam interrupted him and said, "Please, let's just go". They both were next door neighbours, seeing their hometown made them nostalgic.
Tahir mockingly said, "This sure reminds me of Aagyatvas". Dharam decided to keep quiet. Dharam entered his house, turned on the lights, Tahir reminisced the day they both started building that house, Dharam took Tahir to the bedroom, there he locked Tahir inside.
"What is all this about? Dharam" Tahir asked with a calm posture, Dharam pleaded him to just listen about RTL and since Tahir had no other choice he agreed to only listening it.
